The transfer has been complete. Now the heroic Mitchell Pearce will try his hand at Newcastle. He may still win rep honours because of his talent, and the role of Bradley Fittler in NSW selection.

Mitchell Pearce is now no longer at a glamour club. He is with Newcastle Knights. I have no doubt that he will give his best, and will be ably assisted by his former Roosters team mates, Shaun Kenny-Dowell, Aiden Guerra, and the brilliant Connor Watson. Newcastle should greatly improve over 2017 performances with Pearce, the other former Roosters mentioned, plus Kaylin Ponga and Jacob Lillyman in the side

Mitchell Pearce's form of late has been amazing. He has won several MoM awards.

Because the best half back in the world, Cooper Cronk, was not playing for the Sydney Roosters last Friday, and Luke Keary was taken off injured early, Mitchell Pearce took advantage of the situation to stamp his authority on the game against the Sydney Roosters.

Mitchell Pearce's form has been so good that he deserved to be selected for the NSW Blues. He is better than Nathan Cleary. He would have outplayed Dale Cherry Evans. Unfortunately his imperfect form of past years in State of Origin is still being held against him.

Mitchell Pearce is a product of the top class Sydney Roosters culture, built by Nick Politis and Trent Robinson. Now, along with Connor Watson and Shaun Kenny- Dowell, Mitchell Pearce is sharing his Roosters cultivated talents with the people and team of Newcastle. Long may he prosper.

You don't understand. It is all about personal connections. Brad Fittler is an old team mate of Ivan Cleary. That is why he has promoted Ivan's son, Nathan. Brad Fittler also is a mate of Mitchell Pearce. That is one reason (there are others) why he has replaced Nathan Cleary with the supremely talented Mitchell Pearce.
