Streaker in Benji Marshall’s 300th game was Austereo executive
Nick Hansen and Jonathon Moran, The Daily Telegraph

A streaker who ran onto the field in the dying minutes of last night’s historic game at Bankwest Stadium was a radio executive at the game as a guest of the NRL.

Nude but for his shoes, Matthew Cooper turned thousands of heads as he allegedly ran onto the field during the game between Wests Tigers and Parramatta Eels.

Matthew Cooper works for Austereo.
The national account manager at Southern Cross Austereo had to be chased down by security officials and escorted during stalwart Benji Marshall’s 300th game.

It is understood Mr Cooper allegedly took off his clothes, hid behind a Channel Nine cameraman and sprinted onto the field.

Police have today confirmed to The Daily Telegraph Cooper was given a court attendance notice on the night for two charges – wilful and obscene exposure and a second lesser charge under the pitch invasion act.

It is understood Mr Cooper had been seated in the grandstand as a guest of the NRL because his employer, Austereo, had a stake in the game – the network has radio broadcast rights for some fixtures.

“SCA today confirmed it was a GA ticket provided to a staff member for use in a personal capacity. SCA is currently looking further into the matter,” an Austereo spokesman said.

Television commentators Andrew Johns and Ray Warren were caught off guard by the nude man.

“And we got a streaker on the field. Where’s the binoculars?,” Johns said, Warren responding: “You don’t want to look.”

When contacted today, Johns told The Daily Telegraph: “The only tip I would give to any streaker is don’t streak when it is cold.”

Austereo have been contacted for comment.

Just remember
N.Cleary was far more hyped up and most think he is a dud.
Same goes for A.Taylor.

D.Brown shows promise and is a kid but his 2 games back have been below W.Smith standard. We are a team destined for finals footy. If he takes a while to find his feet he will be replaced with Salmon who was just starting to find his.
D.Brown is a long term prospect and I reckon this year was seen as a rebuild. Unsure if most thought we could take the title. If so we prob hang onto Norman.
I reckon Norman's absence is a big part of the improved performances. Very talented player but he is better off in a club where his off-field influence is limited.

Gronky making three posts on the one topic to stretch out the post count of this abortion of a thread.
He’s flogging a dead thread.

Baz, why is it so hard to just comment on the game, in an after game thread?. It can't be that hard can it? Seriously, What does it matter what thread it is in? Dividing the threads to before, during and after actually cleans it up.

Hineyz, he's not flogging a dead horse. It's just a discussion thread man.

It's a thread about the game, after the game. Just like there are different threads about the game, before the game, which people stop commenting on once the game day thread is opened.

I find it really funny that it's become an issue. 1st world whining tbh.

I'm not going through two threads to reply to posts about the game. Posts I can't even quote cos the threads locked.

It's f**king dumb. Some of us enjoy the NRL forum match threads, or watch the game at the pub, or go to the game, then come back here to be locked out of our own game thread.

"It's been quiet around here" says Gronk....hmmm, I wonder why. It cleans nothing up, it makes extra threads which is the opposite of that, and it means there's no point joining the discussion because you can't follow on from points in the actual locked thread.

It really is just wilfully stupid. And wilful stupidity will always piss me off. Too bad

I understand what you are saying. Truly I do.
But, me personally, I haven't felt the need to quote that many game day posts that it upsets me so much that the game day threads get locked.
I'm happy to make my post match comments to those posts in general conversation in a new thread, and then it carries on from there. It really isn't that hard, and it really isn't the emotional wankfest that some are making it out to be that it doesn't exist anymore. I prefer the new option and I prefer that post match comments are separated from all the emotional bullshit in the game day thread that just gets rehashed after every f**king game.
The post match thread would thrive to be honest if people just posted their post match comments and stopped their whiney bitching. Honestly, it's just another thread, to talk about Eels stuff. Post Game. Post emotion.
IMO, it works way better.

I agree with why does it need to be locked. 85% of the time nail the score prediction or outcome of game in first 10mins and I enjoy just re quoting it .
