That is the bit that caught my eye. If he impresses then he could easily displace Leota or RCG. We've seen what guys like Naden and Kenny have done to the squad since debuting.

I hate to say it because I have been a big fan of his but RCG is slipping badly and should be in danger from the guys who are hungry for a first grade spot.

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary has named his squad to face St George Illawarra Dragons at Panthers Stadium on Friday.

Nathan Cleary returns from an ankle injury, with Jarome Luai relegated to the bench and Jed Cartwright dropping to the reserves.

Why?

Not my preference, but there's no set rule saying you have to have 2 x FR + 1 hooker + 1 SR. Majority of our pack can play big minutes.

It doesn't look so bad if its Kenny/Luai on the bench with Egan starting. We know Kenny plays a bit of lock anyway.

If it were my team (All in good time...) then I'd have Kenny playing reggies. He is the odd man out for me.

I think Ivan is going for a defensive edge to start the game which is why Kenny and Winterstein start and are replaced at 15 - 20 minutes.
