I don’t think boycotting the match will
achieve anything positive. Get there support the club through thick and thin. But continue to voice your disapproval of the way the club is managed and run. Join the leagues club, nominate for the board or vote a better board in. Sign petitions, etc. Hurting the club financially and the players mentally will do more harm than good. It’s cutting off your nose despite your face.

Usually agree with you jonesy, but not on this one....when in the last 15 - 20 years has the Board ever reacted to what the members think ?

Trust me, McGregor is as safe as houses for next year...The club even countered disgruntled fans recently with the line, But our membership is 20K....

Your suggested approach has never worked in the past...why would it suddenly work now ???

Fans need to VOTE with their Feet and Wallets.

They need to go wacky soccer fan style with banners & organised chanting. The club needs to get the message that this shit is unacceptable.

Agree.

A packed KJO with Sack Board/Coach signs would achieve more than an empty ground.

Having said that I’ll be struggling to watch it on TV let alone go to my favourite place on the planet.

Shame on the current old boys at the helm. All of you f**kc off now and never come back.

Haven't they Banned negative signsbanners ?...all that will happen is that you will be escorted out of the ground. The Media will report on a minority of disgruntled Dragons fans ( Same story everytime ) and the status quo will remain....

Dropping membership and crowd numbers will force them to take notice...........

What’s the point of these “upcoming games” style of threads?

The Dragons’ season went belly up a long time ago, and I don’t see the side winning another game this year.

You’ve been claiming you’re boycotting the club, membership, and games for years and what’s it achieved? SFA.

You’ve even said you were going to boycott this forum earlier in the season. Yet here you are once again with your useless one liners and offering nothing but cynicism.

I've put my Mary hat on, a crownie bottle cap.
Changes for next week.
Saab and Duft dropped.
Rav and Pearson in.
Lomax to bench
After 3 more crownies, I've decided Lats in Kerr out.
My brain hurts, that will do for now.

Because I don’t think the approach I suggested has really been tried by enough people. If just half the Red V members, petition signatories and forum members joined as leagues club members and voted against the current board, and nominated and voted in decent leadership, I doubt we’d be having this discussion today.

If Kogarah is way closer to empty than full, how can the board brush that off?
It would be a clear sign that people are over it imo.
The media pressure would also have to pickup and thats what it's gonna take, unfortunately. Because this board aren't going to do it unless their hand is forced.

Off overseas next saturday. Good to get away from this crap
You may be overseas but the hurt of being a dragons supporter follows you everywhere. I was listening to the game yesterday from overseas on ABC grandstand whilst texting mates on WhatsApp. When Widdop kicked the goal to put us in front I texted “oh yeah” to my mates and then I got a reply saying “oh no”. It was at that point I remember that there was probably a 1 minute delay on tunein radio. I then had to brace myself as I knew I was about to get crushed....

In the current era, crowds mean f**k all. I used to think the same way you do. But TV rights rules. Look at Easts. They can have shit crowds week in week out, but do well. Corporate sponsorship is where it hurts.

How many times have we watched games in prime time with empty stadia ? I say every week. The average Joe isn't part of this equation sadly. Our game is watched on the screen and the NRL have received billions for this deal. Clubs now are given a free pass via the NRL's grants to survive.

I don't disagree with taking measures to show our disapproval with the board / coach etc. That's fine and it does indicate to the club a worrying trend, but at the end of the day, clubs survive via the allocation of monies from the televised rights and corporate sponsors. Not the bread and butter fan.
