Shame in a way. Bernie is a good operator. Shit position to take at this club when he did and we probably didn't see him operating at his best.

Interesting to see who they get.

And just when it looked liked we were getting some stability around the club.
Well it seems he was tapped on the shoulder.

No idea why they have fallen out of love with Bernie.

The average tenure of a CEO in a business the size of Parra Eels is 3 years so Bernie leaving now doesn't necessarily indicate anything sinister. He came to do a job which was to lead us from the salary cap scandal period where we had no board, were losing sponsors and had a very disenchanted membership/customer base and public reputation to where we are today. In my opinion, he has achieved his objectives and it is now time to bring on someone else who offers different skills and will take us further down the path now set in place.

This is how normal businesses handle CEO roles as and when needed.

Without even interviewing I reckon the incoming CEO is known.
And he is already in the company and ready to step up into the CEO role.
Our board has a LOT of time for this guy and he is pretty qualified too.

He boozed. He whored. He stumbled.

I too think it either family or NRL commission position
Either of those may eventuate over the next few months, however it doesn't necessarily mean they were the catalyst for him not extending his contract.
In fact, one could argue that if either of these were the options that decided his fate, he would have announced them in his letter to members. Instead, the email he sent was more of a "list of achievements" and most likely an unpaid advertisement of his skills and experience.

BTW Ferrier Hodgson was swallowed by KPMG last month.

Max now works for KPMG. Jim Sarantinos did not move across. Probably bc this gig was lined up.

Of those RL listed as being with Ferriers, the only one we’ve been able to identify as not going to KPMG is ex-Ferriers partner and turnaround consultant Jim Sarantinos.

The Ferriers takeover also gives KPMG bankruptcy capacity through veteran Max Donnelly and Perth-based Garry Trevor.

Or he could have secured the commission position, hence the announcement of leaving so club can find replacement in time prior to his departure and allow NRL to announce his appointment on a later date.
