it's a joke the ECB bent the eligibility rules for Archer. Can't seem to produce their own talent, so go and poach players from other nations

There's about 3-4 players in their list who aren't even English, their ODI captain also captained Ireland at one point ffs

No they didn’t, archer has two nations and chose to play for the nation which plays test cricket.

Rules were definitely changed to fast track Jofra into the World Cup squad. He would've had to wait until 2022 under the previous eligibility criteria, but when England have barely produced many 150km/h+ bowlers over the years and their lack of express pace has been criticised, why run the risk and wait another 3-4 years whilst Jofra was still in his early-mid 20's and hadn't had any major? Feel sorry for David Willey, who got shafted.

But whether it's West Indies during the '80s and '90s, or South Africa during the 2000's, the ECB have a notorious history of simply being half-arsed to produce their own talent and simply easier to poach players from other nations.

There’s 3 players in our ashes squad who were foreign born, the exact same number as Australia.
We only have two who weren’t British at birth though, so a third less than you guys.

Rules were brought in to line with the ICCs rules, that’s not the same as bending them though. How do you poach someone who’s a citizen?

Wasn’t Morgan the Irish Captain when Ireland beat England at the 2011 World Cup?

Edit: looked it up and my original thought is wrong.

Still pretty stupid that you can captain one country and just swap over when it suits you.

Eoin Morgan is one of the reasons why ODI cricket has become a batsman's game. Absolutely spoilt brat. When he had a massive whinge over an ODI loss at Lord's a year or so ago which only had a fraction of grass on the pitch, he just sounded like a pompous, arrogant twit, like pitches should always be made to ensure his team gets 300+ every time.

I'm glad the ICC bucked the trend and did produce some good sub-250 surfaces at this year's World Cup.

So when’s this South African coming on for you?

Serious question why don’t they insist players wear those additional guards that became the fashion after the sad incident with Phil Hughes?
Seems crazy it isn’t mandatory PPE in the workplace
