This move definitely makes a lot of sense to do now as far as the roster is concerned, too. With our hands a bit tied by the salary cap next year, the new coach will have a year to come in and see what he needs, and get an opportunity to work the roster a bit in 2020 when our cap is allegedly in much better shape.

As much as there's a lot to like about our squad at the moment, there's also a fair bit of very easy money to free up there too in the likes of Griffin, Moga, Guerra, Buhrer and a couple of other total non-contributors. The roster is still in a position to improve substantially over the next 24 months.

Honestly don't know much about Wane.

Can't see Wests going after someone who's been caught cheating twice already, regardless of his coaching ability.

Only have about 11 or 12 signed past the end of next year, plus brailey presumably.

I'm going to raise the question why Bedsy left. He knew he wasn't ready as a coach but expressed the desire to learn. Then he left the club altogether.

Bedsy didn’t want to leave but Brown told him he wasn’t the type of hooker he was looking for.
He wasn’t the Mann for the job tehehe..
Omg. You are really trolling here. Bedsy had been coach and wasn't playing. In all senses you just troll for a reaction.

Not sure if I'd be willing to punt on Brennan or not. He's probably better than his stint at the Titans suggested.
There’s been some stories floating around that he’s been dialling it in the whole time he was there. Taking extended holidays during the season , unprepared for training. Don’t know how true it is but it doesn’t sound like he’s a good choice.

Like I posted on here before.
JD with DB as his assistant is the way moving forward.
JD deserves his shot.

Dont want an assistant coach on a LARGE learning curve. Very easy to be a good 1st mate and another totally altogether different animal being the Captain of the ship.

Flannagan for mine.

Wests should follow the lead of some NFL clubs- decide on a style of footy that they want, recruit the players to achieve that style, and then hire a coach to implement it all. No need to completely rework the roster, tinker with the junior system or completely change attacking and defensive structures every time a new coach comes in and waste years in the process.
