Anyhow considering how good the broncos forwards are meant to be and how bad our forwards are, we made 1813 m compared to their 1415. We also made more line breaks / offloads and PCM. They made more tackle breaks which probably lead to their first try / field goal.

Similar to last week, halves didn’t build enough pressure and to many errors but we did score 3 tries to 2.

D.Brown might be the next Thurston.
Just keep in mind guys like Ash Taylor, N.Cleary, Lachlan Lam, K.Elgey all had quite big wraps in recent times. Cleary is the only one still playing NRL and is not jn the top 5 play makers in game. Commentators overhype juniors more then fans.

Are those stats for forwards meters or total meters? Because if they are total meters it’s not a comparison of forward packs (which you are trying to make). Our backs made a bunch of line breaks so would contributed a lot to those meters.
The tackle busts are the most useful and telling stats to compare forward packs and their forwards shat all over ours

Haas had 117 pcms. Gee what a beast.

Looking at forwards most of the Brisbane guys had over 40% Pcm. Some 50%.

Alvaro had under 30%
Manu also under 30%

Forwards need to be over 35%
Alvaro played ok but he just wont bust a tackle or hurt a defense.

Just a quick look, they had 3 forwards made 100 plus metre:

Hass - 234
Fifita - 141
Lodge - 153
Next best was Gillet at 93 then Carrigan at 71.

We had 5 players made 100 plus metres

Evans - 173
Paulo - 148
Marata - 110
Lane - 181
Alvaro - 117

Next best was Manu with 96.

Tackle busts was 36 to 24, a fair difference but not massively.

Fafita made 15.

They had Ofengauia and Pangai missing. We had no N.Brown.

Fergo looked like he needed a run.
Meet in finals.and we will get them.

Hass was the standout with post contact metres however Fifita/lodge made around a third of their metres from PCM

However Lane / paulo / Evans / Marata (all third or better) were as good (if not better) then Fifita/lodge with their PCM to metre made.

Gower / Taka / peni also made almost 50% of their metres from PCM

We can't play for more than 50 mins in a game. That is what costs us.

Well we might miss a home final now as we will lose against Manly.

Yes we have over achieved this year but we have thrown away too many games

We have the youngest spine in the comp. They’re going fine. Tonight was a tough one to take and as young sides often do, we are falling away at the wrong end of the season. That doesn’t change the huge improvement we’ve seen this year.

Shhh, you’ll upset the wrist slitters.

I actually think we're a pretty good team.

Yes, we lack some discipline. But, I think, equally importantly, we are also over enthusiastic sometimes, and we need to learn to control that. Yes, that's discipline, but an important facet of it that needs its own attention.

Alright, let's f**king smash them! Penalty.
Alright, let's throw this f**king ball around! Drop it.

And we get in that crazy mindset and just lose composure. But I'm ok with that. We f**king came last in 2018. LAST!!!

We're making good metres, we've got good outside backs, we can throw some damned fine offloads and Moses has a good kicking game - when we don't get over-enthusiastic.

400+ more metres, more offloads, 3 tries to 2. We lost because Moses had an uncharacteristically poor night kicking goals. That's it.

We'll probably end up playing the Broncos in Rd. 1 of the Finals and we'll f**king smash them at home. Hopefully, we then face the Bunnies, because we'll f**king smash them, too. All we'll need to do, then, is pull one good game out of our arses and we'll be in the GF. Hell, even if we lose that game, we were still in the final four.

So, in summary - take your pessimism and cram it up your ringhole. We're a pretty good team, and if we nab a front rower for next year that's worth anything then we'll be even better and maybe a genuine Top 4 team.
