One other thing that has annoyed the f*** out of me the last few weeks is we RARELY ever pressure the kicker. Happens to us, but we don't do it ourselves. It's those little 1%ers that can turn a game.

Reed was blocked early in the game with clear movement from decoy runners. He tried to put pressure on but was illegally denied.

There are some things we need to improve on for 2020:
  • Bench rotation - With Taka going back to the bench and the recruitment of another quality prop, this will improve. If we can figure out what we're going to do regarding a hooking replacement, we'll be fine.
  • Centre: To be blunt, Jennings has lost his speed and, I believe, is now past it. Yes, he can defend, but he no longer creates opportunities. Most of Sivo's tries come from long balls or him having space to make his own opportunities. I think we need to let Jennings go and replace him.
Brown will mature and get better, and Moses just needs time to learn what to do with a good team. I think our spine is fine, so if we get a prop and a centre we'll be pushing to be a genuine Top 4 team.

We need a 2nd rower who can bust the line

If he signs on for next year he will be great depth, but i am baffled that we have had chances to give Stefano and Oregon more chances this year and nothing.

If they see them as our future and we had the gap between us and 7th and 8th for so long we had the chance to put them in cause we lost 2 winnable games anyways and it was obvious to everyone we’d shit the bed in those games so put them in and we still lose but at least you see something!

Are they better then what guys like Gower are at present? If not then all it would do is drive their prices up and cost more next season yet not improve us this year.
I reckon why some clubs hold gius back untill they are ready.

Watching players like Fotueka, Paseka, Best, Fifita and others that play well in NRL, wtf are we leaving Oregan and Stefano in Wenty when they more than held their own with those players in age SOO and rep teams.

When Taka came on and offered something different we moved forward, we see this at other clubs with young players off the bench. Are th coaching staff too conservative and prefer the rusted on experienced heads.

A sense of frustration from a development club supporter.

Brisbane at home last season in finals young pack come up against St Georges old and experienced guys. And they where slaughtered.
Im all for young blokes if they can offer more and are ready. If not then it just drives prices up before they are readhh.

We need someone to replace Manu. Nikuore is ok but not anything to get excited about.
Kinda agree but Nikore is also moved to the middle and gets gassed. Should we sign better middles maybe Lane and Nikore can be allowed to settle into permanent edge players. I doubt it though.

Wasn't expecting to field a pack of development players, just give them some time as a replacemt off the bench . You seem to have a hard on for Mannah, who is a tweener at best these days, was looking for youth off the bench, Terepo and Gower just don't do it against good sides.

Someone made the point earlier that Mark O'Neil will have to show why he was made HOF. We need some smart, top end recruitment to make this team a genuine top 4 side.

Fafita, Arrow, Curtis Scott - these are who we should be going all out for.

Jennings, Gower, Terepo - we have to be ruthless.

We need more spark and go forward off the bench. We also need to learn how to hold the ball and control the game better.

This.
If we say lets wait til next year then we also say they wont be fully ready til 2021,22,23.
Utoikamanu should have some game time this year. What's more baffling is that sometimes one of the interchange player gets 11-15 mins. So why wouldn't you give the young ones a taste. Cmon lets not kid ourselves. These kids can only acclimatise to 1st grade footy by playing 1st grade footy. 10, 15, 20 mins whatever. Fact of the matter is they need to be playing some game time against hardened, seasin campaigners. NSW cup cannot provide that environment...
Also most fans will know that it will be bloody hard to find players as good as Fifita and Haas but they need the opportunity to show what they are capable of...

Patience, patience, patience. We seem to get a hard on when we play against 12 or are in the opposition 20 but dont capitalise.
Too many forced passes, poor passes or early kicks...

It's a no brainer next week. Gower needs a weeks rest, decide week 1 of finals if you bring him back in. Timmy will inevitably play his heart out for the rest of the year. I would be rolling with:

14. Niukore
15. Mannah
16. Utoikamanu
17. Takairangi

Decide who drops out week one of finals out of Alvaro, Mannah and Utoikamanu when Brown returns. Two to drop if Gower is to return.
