Canberra, Scum and NZ = reducing 4 one team cities into 1 four team city. And Queenslanders always tell us how much their the heart of rugby league so let’s give them more teams

Realistically, we should cull/relocate a Sydney team from a non-growth area. One logical move is a further merger between STGI and Sharks. Geographically this makes perfect sense given Sharks are jammed in the middle of the 2 Dragons areas.
Another logical move would be to cut NZ. National Rugby League, not Australia and New Zealand Rugby League ompetition.

Will probably be the Titans though. Give them some of Brisbanes junior clubs and get them playing out of Suncorp for 3-4 games a year and call it a relocation.

I am in favour of expansion and I would not cut anyone.

As soon as we cut a team, it creates a void for AFL or Soccer to claim some RL fans which has already happened if you've been following this same thread in the NRL forum. Fans get shitty when you f**k with their footy team.

The Swans seem to have picked up a few Newtown fans as they refused to follow another NRL team and a few other examples.

The merged teams seemed to have kept their fan base but when teams get cut or relocated their fan base wont just follow another team. We even have a RL fan based in Melbourne because his AFL team was relocated and he would not follow another team.

Fans will walk from the code, It does happen and based on the feedback of our members cutting or relocating a team is the worst possible outcome.

I would choose the Gold Coast because they are a waste of an NRL license. Barely any fans and terrible on the field. No one would miss them.

Cronulla because they are in an area that is easily taken over by other nearby clubs.

And Souths because it would be funny.

The NRL bailed out the dragons and Wests in recent years. That will no longer be happening. Whoever can't keep afloat goes.
1. Dragon
2. Sharks
3. Wests
4. Manly all in danger.

Penrith and Parramatta are two growing cities. Both have a huge jnr base and a large and growing population.
They are also about 30km apart. Geographically Parramatta is closer too Souths,Canterbury or Roosters.

It always amazes me when people in the media talk about culling Sydney teams, as if when they cut a Sydney team, that teams fans will just disperse and pick new teams to follow and everything carries on.

How'd that work out when they cut the bunnies? Or the Bears? Hell, there are still die hard Bears supporters out there refusing to watch NRL games until the Bears come back.

All cutting a Sydney team will accomplish is to lose more NRL supporters. Even relocating a team to Brisvegas (like say, the Brisbane Bulldogs, for example), Might see a few die hards hang on, but they'd lose so many followers form Sydney, and The potential for new followers in Brisbane probably wouldn't make up the short fall, as those in Brisbane that are already league fans have picked their team already and are very unlikely to switch, especially to a relocated Sydney team. Then there's the Broncos. They will do everything possible to sink a second Brisbane team as quickly as possible.

The only real chance of doing anything is expansion, two new teams at a minimum, If you must have another Brisbane team, ok, but I don't see it working, and move into a new territory, Perth being the obvious choice, however a Perth team is a whole other can of worms...
