Billy Smith from the Roosters is a pacy, tall centre who can defend, attack, take the high ball and kick goals. As we have no centres, he could be a handy and budget acquisition.
8 tries in 4 games since returning from acl. NSW Blues player but also recently re-signed with Roosters to 2021.
Would still be worth trying for with a FG incentive. Got a few in front of him at Roosters.

He looks a great prospect. The Dragons three-quarter line is the worst I have ever seen. We have five centres involved with the Club being Cooper, Coyne, Gasnier, Johnston and McGregor and we have our worst centre pairing ever. So sad!!!!

The Roosters are todays version of Manly, it is just not possible that they are under the cap, they are full to brim with superstars and also have all the emerging talent tied up like Kyle Flanagan and don't even produce their own juniors. Its just not fair that a team like the Dragons who are a development club, but so much money and resources into producing junior talent, and then as soon as they are FG ready someone nabs them. I reckon clubs that don't produce juniors should not exist. Or there should be some salary cup concessions for local juniors to reward locally produced talent.

Ok, time to resurrect this thread with 2019 behind us we now need to move onwards into 2020.

At this stage only Robson, Masters have been confirmed to be moving on. Latimore has retired.

That's it for this point in time.

What interests me more is how the team will be made up next year.

T. Sims will come back into the team, where does that leave young Ford?
Who will play fullback?
Surely young Saab will be on One Wing but who will play the other?
Do our current centres survive, and who will replace them if not?
DeBelins case will still haunt us until the start of the season.
Our forward pack, who replaces Latimore? Graham hasn't given any indication he will retire and what's with K. Sims, is he being shopped at the moment?

Anyway a couple of players I think we should look at for 2020.

RYmond Faitala-Mariner - not getting regular game time at the Dogs ans would be vwry handy off the bench as he hits the line and looks to offload.
Marwene Hiroti - just been released by the Rabbits, can play centre and wing and is a goal kicker. Leading point scorer in the CC comp this year.
Andre Niko - no game time at the Raiders, tall fast and can play fullback and wing. 193cm 97kg and can kick goals as well.

No mail on these players but given our stocks we should be making at least some enquiries.

Rumours will abound in the oncoming months, so lets see how the McTeflon effect hits us, orcwill Gus solvecthat problem!

No money to spend.
Jeff, makes you cry doesnt it .. we are pretty well out of money even with widdop leaving . obviously widdops money is paying for Normans wage . Looks like our halves are soaking up the best part of 1.7 million maybe more .. So unless we can offload ALL our unwanted players without any financial backlashwe cant even entertain buying anything other than bargain basement cross your fingers they perform players .
Lets not forget that supercoach tells basil who to sign from the list of potentials so lets hope he can pick better than a Maranta type of player - I think its time to fast track our juniors if we have any left to play

Looking forward...
We have to plan as if JDB is not coming back (& that is not a comment on his being guilty or not, but we failed to plan for his absence this year and it stifled our team).
Norman was bought to replace Widdop in the halves. Hunt & Norman in 2020
A decision has to be made about fullback (Lomax before Sailor and off-load Dufty)
Both Centres need replacing - not seen the stats but neither Aitkin or Lafai have offered anything to the team.
