Still - my point mostly still stands. Apart from Anzac day which you don't want to overdo, there's no harm in having 3 games on other public holidays and letting more clubs in on the action.

Absolutely. For some reason the NRL is obsessed with only using NSW-based public holidays - they need to take better advantage across the board. Even interstate alternate market games (Adelaide, Perth etc) need better consideration if they can be timed with public holidays in those locations.

I can’t see how it can hold more than 16000 and meet safety requirements. Rugby claimed nearly 18000 some time ago and it looked around 11000 that day. 16000 will be a sell out.

Always hard to tell with these
Sometimes they do low 20s like R1 and R25 this year.
A few years ago we had 60,000 at ANZ in round 26, both teams playing for the minor premiership.
Roosters finals crowds tend to be a bit flat in week 1 (nothing really on the line) and pick up each week.

But against Souths on a good weather Friday we should turn out. Both fanbases should be looking at bringing 20,000 I'd hope

They should do Rooster v Souths and Manly v Cronulla as a double header. Those teams are low drawing teams.

When the NRL doesn't plonk it on a Thursday or Monday it comfortably outdraws any other (non public holiday) Sydney game

Is the minimum bar for a good rivalry now triple the typical Sydney crowd? Seems a tiny bit unfair
