What’s your team for this summer?

Lots of questions about the batting lineup, hard to drop Wade after that ton last night but I’m sure people still will

If Warner scores runs in shield cricket I’d bring him in for Patterson.

Smith, Labuschagne, Wade and unfortunately Paine are pretty safe I think. Hopefully Shield form rather than reputation determines the remaining middle order spot and the two opening spots.

Surely this is the end of Siddle. The 4th test bowling attack is our best.

Shield form has to be factored in. Ponting has said Warner is a lock but surely he has to earn his place. Problem of course is no one has stepped up and taken his place either.

Right now I'd probably go
Openers: Best out of Warner, Renshaw, Burns, Bancroft, Khawaja, Harris + anyone else who can impress

Paine because Captain and that's not going to be changed until Smith is eligible again

Starc or Pattinson shield form pending

Patterson and Pucovski in the mix. Second innings century saved Wades bacon.
Shame we didn't have a pair of openers who could score and take some pressure off Smith or might have pulled this last test off.

There’s four rounds of shield before the first test, but there’s 6 T20i’s that are only when a couple of those rounds are.

He should be removed as captain and the team but I am sure they will drag it out till Smith's captaincy ban ends next year.

I'd give most of the players the Pakistan series to redeem themselves. After all we retained the Ashes on foreign soil for the first time since 2001. Warner is notoriously better on home soil. Any failures in the Pakistan series will be met with changes for the NZ series. Siddle drops out though.

Honestly Warner and Khawaja have been as predicted during the Ashes. But they're very good in home conditions and should be picked first IMO.

Burns should have been there already.

Still he's a very, very different player at home

And any of the other 10 could do a better job than Paine.

I'm sure there are other keepers who can actually catch and score more than 10.

Paine, who I never thought was much of a batsman, actually has the third highest average of an Australian keeper. Below Gilchrist and Haddin but above the likes of Marsh and Healy.

Unlike those two though he pretty much bats his average. Once he is in the 20s he finds a way to get himself out.

Something like that. I like Head, but Pakistan at home sounds like a great place to blood William.
