And Manly fans will have to answer for it.Think the Souths mob will be there.
If ANZ was dead set rectangular as planned ,I'd add another 10K to the number.

Not so sure about that. Really feel like despite their success rabbits fans have gone missing.

The AFL is struggling to sell out Richmond v Geelong due to their re-jig of seating categories at finals. Sections that were category three last year are now category one.

Richmond has over 100,000 members, many in the office expected it to sell out in minutes.

The NRL isn't the only one to struggle with pricing.
1 can only dream for that.

I'm pretty sure this is the first ever finals week 2 Friday night match at ANZ Stadium.

All previous Friday night games in finals week 2 in Sydney have been held at the now demolished SFS:

2018 - Sharks v Panthers - 19,211
2015 - Roosters v Bulldogs - 35,711
2014 - Roosters v Cowboys - 18,355
2013 - Sea Eagles v Sharks - 23,837
2012 - Sea Eagles v Cowboys - 16,678
2011 - Tigers v Warriors - 27,109
2009 - Eels v Titans - 28,524
2006 - Dragons v Sea Eagles - 30,907

With the travel to Homebush in Friday peak hour I'm expecting somewhere around 25k.

Game should of been at Bank West

Do we have proof that these initiatives actually do much to help the crowd figure? My thinking is that media hype, stadium view and pricing are by far the biggest factors

It can only help but in reality will only be a couple of hundred people extra unless they are hiring a 30 plus buses?

Its been a very yoyo decade for Souths in regards to attendances. They undoubtedly have a large fanbase but getting them to consistently go to games seems a challenge.

I think playing out of a large stadium can cause big fluctuations in average attendances
For example a game one year might be played in good weather in a good timeslot at a crucial time of the season could get 35,000 - while on another year could get 12,000

The yo-yo for a while was largely due to who hosted the Good Friday game. There has a been a large portion of our fan base for whom 2014 was "mission accomplished" and don't really attend much any more.

Would I be right in my calculations that the team that hosts the good friday game adds around 1,500-2,000 to the season avg?

I think people underestimate how many fans Manly have outside of the Northern Beaches!

Manly will bring the support on Friday... Crowd 32K
17K Manly
15K Souths

South Sydney supporters will be deflated realising how shit they are... Easts didn't try 2 weeks ago.

Manly will outnumber them or equal them at worst and will win the game comfortably.

Their is about a 1% chance Manly will have more support than Souths at ANZ.

The same manly who got 15.5 at their much hyped final, with plenty of sharks supporters at their spiritual home? I hope you’re right. This manly team needs the support and would arguably have greater support if they were any other club.

From what they're saying on the site, they're booking as many buses as people register. Each bus holds 48 people, so if they get 10 buses for 5pm, 10 for 5:30pm and 10 for 6pm, that's just shy of 1500.

Eels supporters and restricted view sold out for AAMI. Manly supporters sold out for ANZ and Rabbitohs down to single seats. Anyone who has bought tickets have any PAX numbers for either?

Not quite - restricted view are not sold at AAMI till general seating categories are sold.
