Consolidation, reclamation and expansion with additional clubs in the NRL

I would bring back the bears as the club for the entirity of North Sydney and relocate Manly to Perth, Adelaide or New Zealand. If the people of Manly-Warringah won't embrace the bears (which they won't) the roosters can have the area to work in over time to become (even moreso) the club of the wealthy (East Sydney and Northern Beaches). The Bears can have the rest of North Sydney and the Sea Eagles brand can stay in the NRL but solve their location and stadium woes. This also re-instates the Bears-Sea Eagles rivalry. Even though it isn't a local derby anymore, it would still get spicy I'm sure.

The Manly Sea Eagles are an absolute necessity for the NRL because they have produced great locally born juniors who have turned into international stars like Steve "Beaver" Menzies and the Serbian heritage Trbojevic brothers. Plus Manly has a glittering array of prominent fans who include the prestigious writer Thomas Keneally, the prestigious actor -entertainer Hugh Jackman, and Sarah Murdoch, the influential wife of Murdoch empire heir apparent Lachlan Murdoch.

But the Central Coast Bears is a valid option! Redeeming a lost supporter base and consolidation of an area that would support an NRL team.

But the Central Coast competes for sponsorship dollars with the Newcastle Knights, which is why Newcastle considers a team from the Central Coast unacceptable.

We are really only thinking of four teams that can be added to the NRL in the foreseeable future: Perth, Brisbane 2, Wellington and Adelaide. The NRL will have trouble getting its head around adding the first two of these four.. But it has to if it is serious about competing with the AFL, and remaining a viable, genuinely national sport.

Central Coast NSW and Central Queensland are just stupid ideas, that have less chance of flourishing financially than the still struggling Gold Coast Titans..

Nope. Absolutely certain the north Sydney business district would get on board a Central Coast Bears. Plus the businesses in Gosford. Newcastle has the Hunter Valley as well as Newcastle.

Agree with Central Qld being stupid.(that's just a decoy being used by the Broncos ) However the Central Coast is very much a win/win for this competition. It consolidates and strengthens the competition north of the Harbour bridge which happens to have in excess of 1.3million people .

The Central Coast Bears don’t even exist anymore, so therefore they aren’t an option at all anymore!

Let's hope this very valid idea is still possible! After all some very prominent businessmen like John Singleton see it as a very doable franchise. Only a procrastinating and slow achieving organisation (NRL) has negated this very doable addition/consolidation of the top flight competition.
