The Sydney Sixers have James Vince and Tom Curran on the books this year for the whole tournament:

As successful members of the English World Cup side, they are likely to be on the tour of South Africa starting the day before the BBL final.

Really makes you wonder the value of signings like that. If the Sixers make the final, you’d have to imagine that they’d be two of the main reasons why.

Good news for the BBL getting a player like that. I might go and watch a game or two when he gets here.

Finchy 188, 151 balls wow

Surely early contender for an opening spot as opener in the opening test ?

no chance

I saw his highlights including all his boundaries, one back cut and the rest all just front foot smashes either mostly straight or over square leg. If the pitch was doing anything he'd be f**ked.

You cant survive in test cricket with just front foot shots, he never uses the crease and is very limited in his shots, as we saw when he played test cricket.

He'll never change.

Did that even count as the thunders title? Should have just given Usman his own trophy

Steyn signs with the stars.

Actually quite a few high-profile players this year for extended parts of the tournament.

Glad that it’s being shared about, but I’m a bit miffed that Coffs got the nod before Newcastle.

Although it's good to see the game get taken to more areas around Australia, I agree with you regarding Coffs Harbour getting the nod over Newcastle.

Scheduling of the season leaves a lot to be desired.

- I know CA won't change it now they've expanded to a full home-and-away season, but the season length was just right during the Ch10 era when the tournament was played over the school holidays (from Boxing Day to end of January).

- The first match of both the Sydney derby and Melbourne derby are only on Fox Sports, shutting out a large % of the potential viewers had it also been on Ch7, especially since Sydney/Melbourne are the largest tv markets.

- Playing a match at Alice Springs starting at 1:15pm in summer....seriously, who thought that was a good idea????

- Glad they've changed the finals system to the IPL format, but should've still been a top 4 rather than 5 teams . Having more than 50% of teams qualifying for the finals devalues the product.

- The last two BBL finals being afternoon matches lacked something. T20 is mainly seen as a predominantly night product, and I hope with the final being moved to Saturday this upcoming season that it will be at night.

The only positive will be the Australian ODI players back for the 2nd half of the tournament after the 3 match ODI series vs India has concluded.

I will say - apparently the Newcastle issue has to do with our council refusing to update the sightscreens and refusing to pay for media facilities.

So as bummed as I am, I get it.

There is a lot of double headers played this time around and the season ends early February,
Final on the 6th

Some of this bowling and fielding from the Thunder has been dreadfull.
Then they get a direct hit run out.

Still plenty of free boundaries given away.

Fantastic innings from Perry though. The only way she even looked like getting out was by a run out. Could've had a hundred easily.
