Yes I know that is on. But the traditional 3 games is what we need instead of some generic club branding cost cutting women's comp (only 4 teams is a laugh in itself), and a national competition play-off that doesn't have the prestige of a proper GF.

This is absurd on several levels.

"Generic club branding cost cutting women's comp"?

They're starting it on a smaller scale and aiming to grow it. There's no point in having a 6, 8 or 10 (or 16) team comp if the talent pool isn't developed to that scale yet.

As for the State Championship - there was constant agitation from north of the border that the NSW competition was getting unfair exposure. Short of playing both the Q Cup and NSW Cup Grand Finals on GF Day (a massive no from QLD because the GF would be played interstate), this is the solution. How seriously the competing clubs take it is up to them. And without a national 20's comp anymore, that's hwo it is.

I still have fond memories of the old three grades on match day. Good times. But it hasn't been that way for years, and the game is clearly changing. Funny how some blokes have suddenly become traditionalists.
