Raiders attack was superior throughout the match - in moving the ball downfield if not in the Roosters' 20 - but ultimately, when presented with the only significant opportunity they'd had all game the Roosters did exactly what they've been doing for two seasons and three of the best players in the game iced it.

If the Raiders were given another 6 tackles rather than over turning their decision, it could’ve been 9-8 to the Raiders rather than 14-8 to the Roosters in the handover set.

That said, you can’t take away what the Roosters have achieved over the past two GF and it’s an amazing effort.

Obviously no one can say what would have happened. Perhaps the raiders drop it on the next play?

What I can look at is the previous 70 minutes where the raiders had chance after chance after chance and scored 1 try off an error.

Do you disagree they were unlikely to score either way?

We aren't the ones being sore. To be fair most raiders fans on here aren't either. It is sooks like you going on about a single decision which was actually correct and not looking at the rest of the game.

Credit to Canberra for making such a game of it. No grand final experience, massive underdogs, could have gone badly for them after the early try, roosters looked slick early and looked like the floodgates might open but Canberra really stuck it to them.

Was as tense and exciting a game as I have ever seen actually. Great atmosphere, Raiders fans really turned up and gave it plenty too.

At the end of the day, the sombreros won a gf that no one really cares about or will remember. Any significance their 22 fans proclaim will fall into obscurity because it wasn’t a balanced result. Gould will flog his log over it when nudged by a panel expert to chat about his fond memories, but in reality the game as a whole took a backwards step tonight

As I said, the NRL powerbrokers live in this alternate reality where because they love the Roosters/ Storm, so must the games' fanbase. Wow Raiders fans really obsessing about one decision. So what happens if the refs called 5th tackle in the first place? Most likely Wighton kicks again and probably it’s a rushed kick under pressure and Roosters get it back anyway. Far too many what ifs involved to say that call cost them the game.

What if Canberra attacked better and scored more tries? That’s what really cost them the game.

If that happened id be saying fair enough.

But we didnt have the chance to put even a rushed kick on because the ref screwed up.
