Call me a cynic, but thats pretty close to the National Rugby League. I wonder how much Beattie pushed for it.

Good way to push our game back...

197 other countries will still think it's a rugby union comp..

Not sure how pretty much dropping the Federation from RLIF and swapping the position of International is a backwards step?

So many fans and parts of the media have been incorrectly calling the RLIF different names like the IRLB, IRL, Board of Control, etc, so it's not like the RLIF held huge amounts of brand equity.

The fact on Social the RLIF has been using 'International Rugby League' for years just shows how that term resonates more than RLIF.

Anyway, here is the hype video the IRL has put out today:

Toothless tiger controlled by nations with massive conflicts of interest. You can call it what you like it wont make it what it should be

What I love about the name is that it is subtly taking back our share of the ownership of the term Rugby. It is very subtle but read the name 'International RUGBY League' out loud with the emphasis on the word Rugby (instead of the word league as we usually do) as you would read it if you were someone that didn't know there were two codes of Rugby. It changes the meaning altogether.

That video is surprisingly really good. Do you know who produced it and who has been engaged to do the re-brand Yak?
