Sam is proof that as long as you are fearless and built like a brick shithouse you don't need brains, looks or a decent personality to succeed in rugby league.

“It’s fooked “

it’s no
“And for all you people back home in the shire etc etc”
But it’s still a pretty good Grand a Final comment.

I’ll never forget his old Chook getting her rough pommy head on the Tele all through that finals series.

Dead set eye torture.

Wonderful news. There is hope for every person in the city of Canberra. They Just need to work on the fearless and Brick shithouse part.

If Sam makes an insurance claim and gets paid out then that's fine, but there has been talk of Souths wanting to pay him out without it being counted on the cap and that's not fine.
Who does it disadvantage by paying him out through medical retirement?

But Boyd doesn't have a career ending injury...
And neither does Burgess.

According to a report from Fox Sports, Burgess was advised by doctors to retire immediately mid-way through the 2019 season.

After consulting specialists around the world, Burgess had to swallow a medical recommendation that he sit out the next 20 months.

The report claims South Sydney’s only option was to allow Burgess to rest for eight months before undergoing another surgery which has a standard 12-month recovery period.

It means he would have missed the 2020 and 2021 seasons before hoping to make a return in 2022 without having played a game for more than two years.

Oh I dunno, maybe the other 15 clubs if Souths can throw him in the bin and buy a 19 year old gun to replace him without them having to dig into their cap too much, if at all.

That of course depends how Sam’s contract is Is paid out. With Toddles you never know. Will be interesting to see how this all unfolds.
