Anthony Mundine is no doubt synonymous with the Dragons - but his son CJ has officially been signed by the South Sydney Rabbitohs on a two-year deal.

The Rabbitohs announced on Friday evening that they had won the race for the 18-year old's signature and will join the club's Jersey Flegg squad next season

General Manager of Football Shane Richardson said they were excited to see what Mundine can bring to the table at Redfern in the coming years.

"CJ is an outstanding prospect and we’re delighted to know he will be learning his trade at South Sydney," he said.

"He has shown plenty of promise in the junior representative grades, he had plenty of interest from other NRL clubs for his services, and we couldn’t be happier to see him pick the Rabbitohs as his club of choice.

"He comes from a great pedigree with his father and grandfather both being fantastic athletes in rugby league and boxing.

"We’re looking forward to seeing him develop in our system initially with our championship-winning under 20s squad and to see him live The Rabbitoh Way."

CJ was a Dragons local junior and played in their SG Ball side recently, before moving to the Matraville Tigers A Grade to play with his famous father in 2019.

I'm not going to pan the young bloke. He'll have beeen getting all sorts of advice from left, right and centre. He's made a decision, he'll have to live with that. Good luck to him.

In all likelihood with a couple of five-eighths in from him, Mundane would’ve struggled to have a future with SGI anyway.

This is one loss that I am not concerned about at all. Others with more potential and with better influences around them will benefit.

Souths just maybe see something in him that our experts dont....oh dear...that may be not a good thing
Or maybe his dad encouraged him to go with a better pathways, coaching and opportunity etc and dont blame The Man for thinking that way
Could turn out to be another Jack Bird loss or Nathan Green. Time will tell

The apple dont fall from the tree, Thats one player that can piss now, dont care how good he is

To be honest, l marvel A. Mundine and wonder how he found time to play so many sports when its seems he spends most of his time playing with himself..

We have much bigger problems than the "Man" & the "Boy" when we have the "Peanut" still in charge.

The big peanut!
