Kenya Rugby League recognised

A rather historic day for Kenya Rugby League. After 4 years of fighting, the sport of Rugby League is officially recognised by the Government of Kenya and the Kenya Rugby League Federation has been recognised as a National Sporting Organisation.

The decision was handed down by the Judiciary Office of the Sports Disputes Tribunal (Appeal 17 of 2019) after the Kenya Rugby League Federation was able to successfully prove that Rugby League is in fact a different sport than Rugby Union, with different International Governing bodies.

Hopefully this helps with the progress of the sport in the country now after it has had significant issues getting funding, sponsorship, grounds and so on.

Great news. Another country that can now move moved with govt recognition, what we take for granted here in Aus.

Now that's big news

As nations can now quote these court findings

Where can we find more information or court transcripts

The rebel RL discussion must have come up too as Kenya were aligned to the rebel Italian group

And which RL federation did they quote ?

For me Africa and South America need to be pushed hard before union puts down deep roots and has an inevitable strangle hold over league.
