Sharks return to Netstrata

Netstrata Jubilee Stadium was to be the Sharks home for the 2020 season before the forced COVID shut down and today the decision was made by Club management to continue with that arrangement beginning with the round nine match against the Panthers.
The Sharks had explored the option of perhaps using alternative stadiums for their remaining fixtures but have now locked in the Kogarah venue for their final seven home matches.
Upcoming games include the Sharks v Panthers on July 11 and the second edition of the local derby this year as the Cronulla side becomes the hosts rather than the visitors when they tackle the Dragons at Netstrata Jubilee on July 25.
With PointsBet Stadium out of action due to the Woolooware Bay residential and retail development, Sharks coach John Morris was looking forward to heading back to Netstrata with his team now having a ground locked in as their home for the rest of the season.
“It was our home ground prior to the shut down and we’re pleased it will again be our base moving forward,” Morris said. “Netstrata is a very good facility, close by which makes it convenient for the players as well as those fans who will be able to attend and we’d like to think we can get comfortable there and make it a difficult place for visiting teams to play.
“We’re looking forward to returning to Netstrata and to turning it into a black, white and blue fortress!”
The Sharks have played once at the venue this year, going down to the Storm in controversial circumstances, a late penalty goal seeing the Melbourne team claim a two point win.
At this stage under the NRL protocols Netstrata will be able to host fans up to 25 per cent of stadium capacity, which is set to be made up of Sharks sponsors, corporate hospitality partners and members.
General admission tickets will not be made available until restrictions on crowd numbers are lifted further, however the Sharks will endeavour to accommodate as many fans as possible considering the ground capacity limitations.
The Sharks commercial and membership departments will be reaching out to corporate partners and members to communicate the game day ticketing options once availability has been determined.
