Just woke up to look at the scoreboard and highlights. What a catch from Smith.

Starc and Cummins are brilliant. Hopefully (from our point of view) Taylor and Waitling can hang around for long enough to capitalise in some of the fatigue that comes from being a bowler down. We have a little bit of batting left, but they’re going to have to do some work to get anywhere near a useful total. These two at the crease are definitely our best chance. Our bowlers need a day in the sheds.

Raval- who didn’t see that coming? As has been the case so often, for so many years, our openers are diabolically weak. If Latham goes, we’re effectively 2 down.

If Boult is fit and Ferguson needs to exit the squad, give Brownlie or Worker a call up to get us through this series.

The last dude like this was Peter Fulton. Remember his run of failures?

Flick a switch and NZ bat on a beast of a deck. Startlingly good groundsmanship

Latham averaging 27/28/11/31 against Oz/India/SA/Pak. He's pretty much in a race vs Jeets back to the pavilion when we play decent teams. His minnow plundering boosting his average means he's a walk up start though.

Yes, brilliant...

Or could be a good toss to win, shit house Strayan weather means pitch ages quickly, bowling in the evening, and as a collective Starc, Cummins and Lyons >> Southee, Wagner, and Santner?

Who knows, regardless we're in the shit... only upside is we'll fight hard and you're likely a bowler down... and for the next two tests we'll hopefully have Boult... downside is we're apparently committed to Raval like you were to Warner in England... problem is even Warner in England is better than Jeet anywhere...

I know Brownlie's an old man now, but they really should have brought him for this series - all we can do know is persist with him, or ask Blundell or Watling to open... at the moment Williamson is effectively opening

More circumstances then anything really. Will be a road the 1st 2 sessions. Without a 3rd quick probably stays a road for the whole day.
