NZ have a 203cm fast bowler and have not been him playing, how the f**k to they expect to get better?

FMD.

Not that bowling is the problem.

Any batters hidden at home?

He bowls at about 125km so more Tom Moody than Mitchell Starc.

Nicholls is presumably another option to open - but 3-7 is our strength, messing with that to fix the cluster f**k selection policies just seems double stupid

You've hit the nail on the head though, not having any batting cover (literally none, Blundell is capable but a specialist keeper) is f**king geniused (and some have been saying that for a while) and Santner while a handy cricketer is a limited overs spinner and a spinner in NZ conditions because they don't take wickets - Astle is not a great option - Somerville at least knows Aust, and Patel is the best spin bowler in NZ

But with Ferguson going down, they had the chance to pick a bat and fix the obvious problem - but they're too stupid to... with Boult, Southee and Wagner fit, they all play, no question... Henry is clearly next - Jamieson will be there as a net bowler only - just dumb - bring him over as a net bowler if that's important and add a top order bat FFS

Jesus this is infuriating...

Then again, I see Siddle's been called up, and you have Wade at #5, so guess you can empathize!

Our problem is when we win a few games we bury our head in the sand and scream everything's fine. Can you imagine the Waugh/Ponting Australian teams carrying a batsmen in the form Raval is in just because they are winning? Nope, and that's why they kept winning.

Also seems like Larsen (Blundell), Stead (Astle and presumably Raval) and Williamson (Santner) are all playing favourites

The Raval one is a guess, but someone is a fan

All the bowlers they could pick and they pick Siddle

I do not understand this at all.

If they want an extra strike bowler to replace Haze, Pattinson.

If they want a workhorse to replace Haze, Neser.

I can’t believe they’re trotting out the ‘he had a good Shield game’ bullshit. Exactly how was Neser supposed to impress in the Shield? He was running the water in Perth?

And if they are just adding a player to the squad because they want two spare quicks, why not Conway or someone else who would benefit from the exposure to the squad?

If they play him it’s a f**king joke.

Shittle is a Langer favourite. They have been in love with each other since Langer was batting coach.

I had to sit through a work thing where Langer was the guest speaker. What an absolute dribbling space cadet. He rambled on how much he and Ricky Ponting loved Peter Siddle and what an amazing person he is blah blah blah.

Trevor Hohns tried to axe the Great Steve Waugh’s career and here he is picking an over the hill broken down Plodder. I’ve always disliked him with a passion. He should of f**ked off with Greg Chappell.

you mean like they did with Warner after the Ashes?

I know, I know...Raval is not at all as good as Warner. I just couldn’t resist

siddle knows the MCG well and that gives him the edge, apparently. Pattinson would presumably get lost out there

Pattinson in. The MCG pitch is boring enough without Siddle trundling in. Neser doesn't suit the MCG either, he needs a bit in the pitch.

So putting my tinfoil hat on...

perhaps the MCG pitch had been harvested to negate any further non-Victorian bowlers being considered...

Because if they were there would be no victorians playing the MCG test...

Which would upset the self-proclaimed “sporting capital of the world” and its president, SK Warne..

Their best Victorian is Siddle..

Siddle will get the nod.

I hope Bailey, our new selector is not a fan but it would appear the Space Cadet made the call.

When you think about it, Neser has the better stats but stats dont tell the full story, he bowls at the Gabba a lot so he would be expected to have the better stats whereas the last game at the G was called off which back fired for the Mexicans. They asked for a "sporting pitch" to be prepared so there would be an outright result, not sure the curator quite understood the meaning of the word "sporting"

Patto would be the more dangerous bowler at the G for mine

Now both teams have a second keeper in the top 6... ours is a good player though... but not sure he’s a test opener
