Really?

Firstly I would not want that at all. AJ is a great player. Sadly he wants to play fullback and that’s unlikely. Especially if we get Mitchell
If Alex leaves it’s because he wants to

2ndly. From a club that shafted one of your immortals, Farah, you’re in no position to be critical of Souths......(lightbulb icon)

Agent war stalls Latrell Mitchell move to South Sydney

Nick Walshaw , The Daily Telegraph

January 4, 2020 4:37pm
Roosters superstar Latrell Mitchell has become embroiled in yet another agent war.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal Mitchell, who is represented by manager Wayde Rushton, has requested an immediate release to join the stable of rival NRL agent and boxing promoter Matt Rose.

The switch, which would be the 22-year-old’s third agent change in less than eight months, comes as talks between the Kangaroo and South Sydney intensify.

The reigning premiers officially return to pre-season training Monday, but it is understood Mitchell won’t commit anywhere until the management change is finalised.

For months, now, it has been claimed Rose has been speaking on Mitchell’s behalf with officials from Souths, Wests Tigers and the Roosters.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph shortly before Christmas, however, the agent said he had no professional control over the Australian Test star and was not involved with any potential move to South Sydney.

Rose added he had no clue where Mitchell was headed for the upcoming season and said it was not his intention to get involved.

Rushton, meanwhile, looked set to make Mitchell rugby league’s newest $1 million man — as well as getting him a desired switch to fullback.

Apart from securing the Kangaroo incumbent a four-year deal with Wests Tigers worth upwards of $4 million, Rushton had also negotiated a bumper Adidas sponsorship.

Latrell Mitchell is odds-on to join Souths.

Elsewhere, the agent had also been negotiating with Bunnies officials to have rugby league’s top pointscorer potentially jump the fence to Redfern for 2020.

Only last May, Mitchell spoke glowingly of his move to Rushton’s camp after the Roosters poster boy endured a public falling out with manager Steve Deacon, telling The Daily Telegraph: “There were days I couldn’t get out of bed.”

At the time, the centre conceded his public break-up with Deacon, coupled with rumours about him being unhappy at the Roosters, then wanting to join Sydney rivals like Souths and Parramatta, had taken a heavy toll.

Bunnies coach Wayne Bennett is understandably a huge Mitchell fan and would obviously enjoy the challenge that is getting the best from the mercurial three-quarter.

Already, Rose has solid links to Souths given one of his clients is Bunnies No.6 Cody Walker.

The brother of retired NRL cult favourite George Rose also manages NSW Origin incumbent Jack Wighton.

And now it seems Mitchell will be the latest indigenous star to join his small stable.

While Rushton has secured the $4 million Tigers deal, it is understood the management switch could be finalised as soon as Tuesday.

While the reigning premiers remain keen to get Mitchell off their books immediately, Roosters coach Trent Robinson has rejected reports suggesting he will dump the centre to reserve grade if he chooses to see out the last year of his deal.

As of Saturday afternoon, Roosters coaching staff were expecting Mitchell to show at training on Monday morning.

Huh? I’m talking about fans. My entire point is that Souths fans talk up their club as some sort of battlers who pride themselves on local juniours and the indigenous community, whilst taking pot shots at other clubs like the Roosters for trying to ‘buy a Premiership’ when they are doing the exact same thing.

FTR there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, but Souths fans continually take a ‘holier the thou’ approach when it comes to other teams, particularly the Roosters.

What are souffs meant to do? They lost their two best players and 2 million in cap space. Are they meant to just promote local nuffies and make them millionaires? They’re hardly trying to buy a premiership simply by doing their best to replace the players they lost with similar quality players. Unlike the roosters who were already a good team adding half the Australian spine to their team

Well... they added 1/4 of the Italian spine and 1/4 of the Australian spine.

But let’s not do facts eh?

For starters

1) there are many Souths fans and they do come from different backgrounds.
Just look at the membership numbers. The largest of any NSW club for starters. The fans include indigenous , there are battlers , middle class and there are rich and famous. Some with teeth and some without . Some with jobs and some without.

You like to paint a broad brush for your arguments ......a focus on the "group" that suits your argument.

2) Many Souths fans , do take pride in the junior development focus . You IGNORE , there is a Souths Juniors Club , was one of the richest in NSW ( do not know current status , I never go to Clubs) it has an affiliation with Souths , however has always maintained its focus on "junior development" and not directly take over the NRL team. Many Souths fans , see both clubs as linked .........YOU DO NOT it appears. 5 of the current run on team have come from the junior teams. Reynolds , Graham , Roberts , Murray, Alex Johnston.

3) you conveniently IGNORe ( because thet is you game) that Souths have had 3 very influential player retire in 2019 .........GI , Sam B and John Sutton.

All three have been captains of the club,
GI one of their greatest all time backs , Sam B one of their greatest all time forwards and John Sutton who holds the all time club playing record.

So YES , Souths have $$$ .
To satisfy a dope like you , Souths should out this money into long term development of their juniors and perhaps have a great team in 10 years.
or
Souths use the money they have to try and get the best available players they can get to replace the very specials players they have lost.

What you think , stinks of envy . ( it always has)

The POINT is summarised in the last line , you dope.

YOU STINK OF ENVY , Vic Mackey......YOU STINK OF ENVY , most of your posts on Souths do.

As if any of your posts on Souths have anything other than a SMART ARSE logic , which is exactly how you try to hide your argument failure with a "smart arse " one liner , which again , like many posters here MEANS NOTHING

Nah Souffs are definitely the proudest Indigneous club.

They'll pull up the Rolls Royce to drive Latrell to the front gates as the new Indigenous face of the club; but before that they just need to drive Dane Gagai & Alex Johnstone out of the club in the back of a taxi by any means necessary.

Because Souffs Cares. Unless you're not good enough, in which case Souffs Don't Care.

Also just be sure not to tear your ACL in the first 10 min of the game because you'll be forced to play out almost the rest of the game - bringing your career to an early end. Because Souffs Cares.

And if you suffer multiple concussions you'll be forced to play on without adequate rest. Week after week. And then be cast aside at 27. Like Kyle Turner. Because Souffs Cares about their Indigneous players. Clearly.
