head was a smart player and in my opinion given the chance would make a good coach, at the very least better than one we have.
Heads team selection and bench use is as bad as Mary's. The bench was a big part of the finals loss.
Apparently Head cannot cop Mary at all.
CC
Haven't heard that before...

Just some journos opinion writing an article
Head does not want the head job at the Dragons..he wanted out..unless massive changes above him and not just Mary.
He can leave anytime he wants.
Maybe no one wants him.

Agree GD and his coaching has Maryism's attached to it in respect to all being over the shop like the side displayed
I was peeved when we brought him back into the club as we had been there done that but that is the Dragons Seniors way. Just another body and friend who just slots right in knowing the 1st grade coaching mob and at the time Dousty.

george Dragon and others who watch a lot of junior footy:

would it be fair to say that the backline juniors we have emerging are as good as any collective out there?

Saab
Sullivan
Ramsey
Faegai twins
etc

I cant recall such dominant backline players in the juniors for a long time
arguably dufty was just as dominant in the juniors as any back coming thru besides besides Ponga

Jackson Ford could become a full time centre also if he cant land a second row spot given his speed and talent being hard to deny

Lomax & Ford would stiffen up the incumbent centre ‘defence’ which has probably leaked 100’s of tries - and failed to score as many during their inexcusable tenure imo.

Anyone seen who’s training as a backup centre for The Untouchables in the squad?

My apologies ... I’ve misspoken yet again -no such threats allowed.

The only carrots available for junior backs are wing, fullback or bench

There are plenty of other great juniors out there some have already made the step up. Whether our boys all do only time will tell. The advantage this lot has is the club has identified size as a major recruitment and that is a plus for them.
Ford's defence is not good enough for centre or FG atm
He is about 78% and 82% for CC not good enough for either grade.
Host whos defence is questionable is at 83% the lowest of our forwards.

You may well be right GD.
You have the stats.

Given self belief via a chance can be transformative - and skilled advice is priceless for a kid.
Much the same was said about Garrick?
But at our club incumbency and age prevails & the juniors can go fook themselves when it comes to decent chances in the NRL

I agree re Ford definitely a work in progress and if he improves it will be despite the coach not because of.
JDB, Frizz, TS, PV were all lucky in that they were more mature when first encountering Mc Fookknuckle so their development not so stunted but certainly impaired IMO.
Do you think that our defensive patters contribute to the low stats that some of the players have?
With Host I have seen him defend on the edge then in the middle and then the other edge all in the 1 game and that IMO requires excellent skill sets and very few could actually do it very well.
Leilua not so bad but edge and middle and then required to be a ball player in fact the only ball player and defend tight as well.
To me if you are a forward defence is not all the same in fact it is highly specialised and IMO we don't look like we train the players in that way.
IMO we look like a cricket team full of all rounders rather than a team with specialists doing individual jobs who combine all of their collective talent into a well oiled machine.

last line of sporting news regarding Fuimaona signing states we are looking at NENE MCDONALD...
why would we be after a guy that we let go/ gets sacked by his new club/ hasan ankle foot injury that could impede his playing ability / obviously hass issues off field ? /
obviously supercoach wants him as one of our 2 wingers BUT was happy to let him go ......
Surely we can do better than NENE .. unless we have him on a trial and train contract ( would be smart) Its starting to look like supercoach is after a very "experienced" team to save his skin and reduce the ability of youth to force their way in..
George etc heard anything and should we be worried ???? ( well more than ever)

Plus, we all know McIdiot will play the old, broken down, worn out, journeymen before blooding any promising youngster.

Looks like there will be a number challenging for the Josh McCrone Award this season.
