Richardson and Finch will be proud to take their Renegades form with them to India. To be fair, Richardson has had just the one bad night.

Its not hard to see why the renegades are 0 from 7 and failing so bad.... they are a team of overrated hacks, like Harris, Gleeson and led by fatboy Finch.... To make things worse they go out and recruit a dud like Patel, a poor mans Rakeem Cornwell, who cant bowl for shit, cant bat for shit and cant field for shit....his batting averages across the 3 forms is absolutely pathetic.... tonight he got 40 taken off his bowling, made 3 runs from 3 balls and barely made it on the 3rd bounce when throwin it back to the wickie...
Its like what the Bulldogs are doing.... they shed all their old rotten meat in the morris boys and graham and replace it with more rotten meat in Forran who is deadset made of paper mache.... and they expect to make improvements???

Renegades were lucky they played a choking side in the Stars in the final last year, never ever should have won that.

Leading up to the final, for some reason a toothpick like Gurney was bowling really well, who this year has been belted pillar to post like he should be. No one is falling for his slower ball of 105km/hr or faster one of 125km/hr

There is no Mohammed Nabi just yet (who is playing in the Bangladesh league) he won them many games last year on the back of his all round ability. They may have him for the last 4-5 matches, too late then

Finch has been a massive plod. Supposedly one of the best t20 openers

Why on earth is there a 3.30pm game today? Most people are back at work by now.

If they’re going to do day games outside of the Christmas shutdown period, they should be in holiday areas like the Gold Coast or Coffs.

Feel for the Strikers, They have 3.40pm start in their next 4 matches over the next 10 days (3 of them on a week day).

The Ind v Aust ODI starts at 7pm so half understand two of them, but todays start is weird

Going to my first ever BBL game today. Strikers and Sixers at the Adelaide oval. Should be good although it’ll be effing hot and I’m on the concourse of the riverbank end. Can’t wait!

It’s also just classic CA - the event on FTA that everyone can watch? While you’re at work. The event behind a paywall? When you’re at home.

Still school holidays would be their reasoning not that I agree with it

I bet you Finch and Richardson can't wait to get out of Australia and away from the Renegades environment after the team's absymal form this season.

In the old BBL format (before it expanded to a full home-and-away season), day games were predominantly played only on weekends, and they were at a later time (4:10pm start).

IMO, day games starting at 2:45/3:30pm should either only be held in places with cooler climates such as Tasmania, or outside of the main cities. Hosting them in 42 degree heat inAlice Springs is farcical. Also, the larger venues such as SCG/MCG/Gabba would be difficult to attract big crowds at that time, when there's plenty of other things families living in the major cities can do during the day such as going to the beach, shopping etc. Those larger venues are mainly suited to hosting games in the primetime 7pm AEDST slot.

I understand matches on Jan 14 and 17 starting at 3:40pm, as CA don't want it clashing with the ODIs in India, but the final ODI on Jan 19 clashes with the Heat vs Renegades BBL match though.

It was great to see a good crowd turn out at Coffs Harbour, but unfortunately reinforces why international/top-tier matches can never be played at venues traditionally designed to host the footy codes that play on rectangular fields (Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer): the square boundaries are way too short and make a mockery of the contest when the batsman's strategy simply becomes twisting the body sideways and hit as hard as you can to a 55-57m boundary. as a mistimed shot with a modern bat can still end up way in the crowd with consummate ease.

Even the T20I in Geelong a few years ago, the pitch had to be rotated 45 degrees to meet ICC requirements.
