Also hearing Guildford owls will have more of a link with parra cc in 2020 due to Wenty being dropped. Does anyone know how this system works , could we possibly see someone from parras top 30 playing Massey or even Sydney shield ?be great for locals to watch
Might be true regarding the stronger link with Parra Cup,as the Eels just assisted Guildford with some upgraded gym equipment over the Christmas break.

Guildford were advertising for players at the end of last season. They were dangling a carrot saying the club was a direct pathway to NSW Cup. So i'm guessing they will be linked with the Eels

Looks like Mounties will be looking for a new coach as Jared Farlow has got an assistant coaching job with Parramatta NSW Cup.

Heard a rumour Ryde Eastwood are going to compete in the pre season challenge cup against the Massey sides
If they are good enough to enter the CC surely they should play in the RMC ?
Having so many clubs just playing shield takes a bit limelight off the RMC.
They need to narrow it down to 12 clubs and all 12 clubs play in both competitions or 14 with all clubs playing both.
Its embarassing that some clubs with both RMC & SS have to be separated more often than not.

While I agree more clubs should step up from SS to RMC. The problem is smaller clubs such as east cambelltown wouldn’t have enough money to run a RMC squad.

RE will likely be eliminated in 1st round if they draw a RMC team rather than a country side, although some RMC clubs put many SS players in Challenge Cup. The bigger issue for RE is that it all happened so quickly - they were out of these comps for 14 years, reappear in reggies with basically a Balmain junior League combination, but having unexpectedly succeeded, failed to step up. Clearly they would have had to recruit a lot of players to play RMC but the consequence of staying in SS is that they will lose players to RMC clubs with their 2 best joining Asquith and Cabra for 2020.

When you can afford to pay most of your players 500+ p/g like East Ctown can im sure you can conjure up enough to have both RMC and SS.
There whole team nearly are ex Cup or RMC players who prefer the easier comp for the same if not more money.

Ok thats a lot coin to pay blokes for SS.
I saw them play twice last year. Didn’t look like too many of them would have good enough for NSW cup.

I did say Ex Cup/RM players.
Mostly ex RMC that just play for money now. Most of the teams with only Sydney Shield would be nowhere near the Salary Cap.
EC- Mason talolua , Shannan Grant, Lahey brothers, theo leaota, tom Morrison. All would play Massey at other clubs and have in the past
