Also two new signings, being Joey Ryan (ugh) and the aforementioned Ace Romero. Romero was on a number of MLW episodes & specials, but hasn’t been seen since he & Barrington Hughes were destroyed by Contra (Joseph Samael, Jacob Fatu, and Simon Gotch).

It was awful timing for Impact in general. They went from having a powerful, feel-good moment they could really celebrate to having to kind of downplay it. Watching the finish to that match, there was definitely an eagerness to cut away before the crowd turned on it.

Not the tearful, emotional celebration you'd have expected.

Joey Ryan and Dave Crist have had their contracts terminated in line with serious allergations arising out of the speaking out movement on Twitter. Michael Elgin is suspended as well pending further investigation.

Add Tessa Blanchard to the fired list. Her contract was due to expire after Slammiversary, where she was to defend the Impact World Title against Eddie Edwards, Moose, Trey Miguel, and Michael Elgin. Obviously she’s been stripped of the title. This has nothing to do with the Speaking Out movement, but her refusal to either return to TV or send in pre-tapes that could be inserted into episodes in the lead-up to the PPV.
