"Market value" is . . . umm, how do I make this simple for you ?
Market Value is the value the market places on him.
If souffs offer 250K more than any other club for a player, his market value includes that 250K.
It doesn't disappear, just because souffs are toothless bogans that live in the rectal cavity of the NRL.
Like I said yesterday, it will make your brain hurt

market value
noun
  1. the amount for which something can be sold on a given market.
Pretty straight forward. LM could get double what he got at Souths. Pretend all you like.

Put simply, your statement about needing 2 million to join your lot is exactly what is wrong with the NRL!

The NRL needs a different way of capping player talent at a club. The salary cap is working to ensure clubs don't go broke, but is dismal in ensuring the talent is spread around fairly.

A talent cap should be introduced in parallel with a salary cap, with appropriate discounts for juniors playing for the club, long term/one club player discount etc.
Problem with that analogy is that not all clubs can offer him the same thing.

Tigers can't offer him a premiership but Souths might be able to. Success plays a part.

And I get that. But at the same time, the idea of the salary cap in part, is to spread the talent. That isnt really happening very well.

Some of those points are diametrically opposing.

How so? Please explain.

So unders and Rusty's paper bags and family hugs is market value?

Yeah, nah.

Look fluffy tiger. Mitchell didn’t want to go to your joke of a club.
When will the penny drop for you. Mind you he’s not alone :clown::clown:

In saying that I hear you’ve offered top dollar for Alex Johnston :money_mouth::money_mouth::money_mouth::money_mouth:. Doubt we’ll let him go and he’d be mad to join Madge over there

So if market value is determined by the highest value that a desperate club can offer, the rule then just pretty much locks a player into the highest bidder.

Yes, it’s a moronic contention from those pushing it.

Latrell has got his market value from a legitimate source

We do not pretend to be the peoples club, sticking up for the little bloke.

Never pretended that once.

You lied then sold out.

We are still a club, look it up.

Should have merged with Saints......pfft the peoples sell outs.

Did you march in the street so rich men own you...

We are still a club, look it up.

Not suprised you live in denial. Your entire entity, sold out.
