He has been told by Bennett to look elsewhere now that Mitchell will be the fullback.
He is still a youngster and played fullback last season and done pretty well in. that position.
We should take a look at. him, that could solve the issue about who should play fullback
Millward should be all over him

He would be a great recruit if available, and good in many areas we are needing atm.

Question remains on how much salary space we have with the remaining number of spots to fill, and who we can move on if needed. I’d happily loose one of our current centres, but I am not sure that anyone would grab them over Doueihi, so down to salary cap space and priorities (signing or promoting others).

Looking at over 500k.Is he worth that ? Also would piss off Lomax after being promised the No 1 role.It does demonstrate that there is a lot of list cloggers in our squad so the purge at the end of this year can't come quick enough.

Have also just read that Souths actually don't need to offload players this year to remain cap compliant, and therefore won't be absorbing any short-fall in wages for players that do move on between now and the June 30 deadline.

Not what I heard. We already made inquiries along with a number of other clubs and were told they are not releasing him.
Straight from someone involved with their club...Unless things have changed in the last few days this is not correct.

Goes ok but not sure that fullback is his best spot & if true he’s not worth 500k, at the moment. 5/8 or centre is where I’d be using him or as a 14. Anyway we haven’t got the right coach to get the best out of him, especially if he’s used at 14.
I agree with this. He's a gutsy player who plays with 100% heart... but I don't think he's necessarily someone you sign with a view to lifting you out of 15th place on the ladder. Not all that fast, or big. He's a great utility and fill-in though.

I think your last line answers the question of why we may have looked @ him..."Triangle " player.

Same. For me. Heard somewhere souths were actually cheeky enough to offer the titans Corey Allen not Doueihi/gagai/Johnson.

Doueihi's best position is fullback who can fill-in in the halves. He's definitely not a winger and I doubt centre would be his go and at 500k per season it would be a massive financial investment based on a whim.
With Lomax as our fullback (and signed long term) only a shift to centre would accomodate Doueihi. Dont forget we also yave young Ramsey and the highly rated youngster from Young (having a seniors moment cant remember his name, and no its not Silverman lol) coming through, so in retrospect Doueihi would be an expensive surplus.

Good prospect. 500k if we didn't have lomax maybe. But I'd rather bank on youth and a new coach to build the team

I remember him really worrying our defence on a couple of occasions, very dangerous in attack and seems a very smart footballer, great under the high ball too. I expect he'd be looking at a long term contract as a fullback somewhere. We've got Lomax, Dufty and Sailor among others so don't really need a specialist fullback. We need an experienced specialist centre or two and a first rate Prop, should sort those out first. So we'll probably buy another Hooker.

Edit ; I'd take Doueihi as a 5/8 and put Norman in the centres but that's just me.
