Hi Gareth,

I missed the Tele and sometimes I get a bit suspicious about players slagging out the ex but he was probably speaking from the heart.

I was stunned when Mary left the country last year for his corporate leadership circle jerk conference with his club mates.

The club had just finished its worst season in living memory. Almost every player was leaving or underperforming. Fans and members were rioting. So there’s Mary galavanting around the usa trying to rub shoulders with e-commerce parasites and other boring, lentil soup sipping, champagne socialist dickhead corporate leaches.

And then he came back with his immortal biblical commandment of “ we are all rookies now”

He says things he thinks are positive and inspiring... but to everyone else listening it’s all psycho babble.

It’s like Mary lives in his own world. He is a good bloke but hes getting a bit creepier as time goes on.

We all might be lucky this year and get just one brave journalist at the press conference not to ask Him about the loss of jdb and the effect on the side. Or perhaps Mary will not mention it.

And getting Gould in ( failed panther boss) to help out is not just laughable but deeply embarrassing for a proud club like Saints.

There’s only one recommendation needed.

Well said Silverdale Phantom , loved the line “ We are all rookies now “ - sounds as if we have ourselves another Vince Lombardi ( Green Bay Packers coach ) on our hands !

That being the case we can all rest assured that our beloved Dragons will be breaking all sorts of records in season 2020 , we may have to throw out some of the silverware from the trophy case at the Taj Mahal to make room for the new shiny pieces.

I tuned in to the official pre-season Mary interview. I didn’t make it to the end.

Hes seems to have found his old tin foil hat and dropped his managerial emo persona he was trying on late last year.

He got rid of his horrific “ we are all rookies now” to “ we have learnt from experience.”

So that’s completely contradictory. Little wonder we are so confused.

Another highlight was the six new staff brought in. So the old crew get blamed. We saw that coming.

He said there were too many distractions last year but naturally failed to take any responsibility for that environment. I mean he was talking about these all last year in the form of excuses very publically.

The glory of 2018 was mentioned ( the old 85) and he believed the players got a bit complacent last year. This is entirely contradictory to his comments after almost every game last year. Not many coaches hark back to the season before the last, when you had a willing squad, but I suppose that’s all he’s got.

Some idiot asked him about the threat from Flanno, but he said flanno was a positive. I tend to agree but we all know about his murky background. At any rate, I’d be keeping the Gatorade out of flanno s reach during sessions.

So in sum, the year starts with a vintage dose of Mary. Why he even does interviews is nonsensical. It just upsets people.

From what I heard, not one tribute or word of remorse for a pathetic 2019, declining memberships and crowds and the obliteration of the brand. Recruitment have fallen asleep at the wheel. People are being questioned for signage and relocating has been mentioned. Another merger even.

So another year from hell awaits. Extinction as an nrl club creeps closer.

He must be sacked.

It’s a bit off topic, but us Tigers have bad problems too.

Not many clubs are given the honour of players sacrificing an unspeakable $550k a season to ensure they don’t play for us.

That’s over $10k a week or more than a grand a day.

An nrl record I’d say. A triumph of rejection like no other!

We’d kill for your squad.

Mary's media interviews are sheer embarrassing as he's a complete moron that will use any excuse or contradiction to self survive.
I refuse to watch and listen to any further shit that spews out of his mouth.

I will only listen to 1 interview with him only in 2020 .....his sacking or departure excuse!!!
I really pity Flanno & Shepperd having to tolerate this FLOG for a living.

The Gordon’s are too busy visiting the old man in the Bahamas or ski ing in Europe to worry too much.

It’s the classic case of people biting off more than they can chew. The idle rich buying playthings as a hobby.

Bj was a terrible choice and a testament to the incompetency of our education system and his past employers. Australian managers rank amongst the worst in the world (ie the car industry). Bastard insurance companies are already denying bushfire claims. All the banks are singing their own praises about bushfire relief when the rip us off blind with 18% credit card rates when they borrow it at less than 1%. And the government does nothing. Labor and Liberal mind you.

Some people here get a huge mongrel about corporate structures and shares and crap but the real issue is appalling and incompetent decision making at the top.

So you can hope they leave with Mary, sell the whole show back to the members. Bring in some office talent and move forward for a change.

The Mary recovery effort will take 2 or 3 years if you are lucky.

True that, TSP.

It's a real shame he didn't swap positions last year with BJ, that way, BJ would of been the perfect coach in saying nothing and The Smooth One would of been in his element, talking crap each week.
Pity that.

Thanks for the '...harking back to the previous year." Thats gold indeed.
As you say, those previous six assistants must of been just a bad batch, happens to all of us.

If fact, l'd kill just for a coach, any coach .............. even someone thinking of becoming a coach.

I see hes binned that court jesters training uniform we all thought was appropriate.

I found a story on the review and it can be summed up by recommending the lining up of key performance and medical personnel and proceeding to shoot each of them in the back of the head one by one.

Letting Crawley go is bound to upset his somewhat befuddled but influential relative. Some hope for us there.

I see theres a permanent psycho babbling leach onboard from “leadership by design.”

His central role is to trick the senior staff and less clever players into the belief they are improving.

Or give them an easy task to do then once they complete it -congratulate them for showing leadership.

It’s a complete snow job and your geniused senior management have fallen for trendy bait and switch.

Leadership is about having a go. Its about taking responsibility It’s not about making excuses.

The season hasn’t started yet and poor old Mary clearly hasn’t listened to leadership by design because he hasn’t shown any of these leadership qualities since the disgrace of last year. Pissing of to the USA for a junket is not having a go. Sacking your staff is not taking responsibility. As for excuses, lol...!

Perhaps he’s simply in the too hard basket for them.

Plus there’s now meditation experts. Ffs, last year, the players looked like they were meditating whilst actually playing. Mary tried his counselling and cuddling crap with Hunt and it led to a good rodgering as you meekly bade farewell to finals chances.

So it was a waste of time as we predicted here. Changing the deck chairs on the Titanic.

The leadership by design rort is a good one because hopefully you can get yourselves off near the bottom of the table.

Then they can claim credit and raise fees for 2021.

They’d really have to earn their money at tigers!

Hope there’s less heat in the Bahamas for Bruce
... like Luc’s less than cryptic “offfield pressure” perhaps?

Lol, young Master Bruce is only 90 this year.

I’ve heard that so far as he is currently aware:

Mary did a great job playing state of origin last season, but the brucemeister remains adamant that the unlimited tackle rule should remain in place.

For the life of him he can’t understand why prime minister Harold Holt hasn’t returned his call from last Thursday.

He thinks the Cuban pop group abba are “the sons and daughters of Satan” and are poisoning our young people’s minds. Not that he can actually remember what a young person looks like these days.

Suffice to say that he still invests in free to air broadcast media.

He locks himself in his room and the nurse puts on Bonanza for him. He’s a written a will that provides for a grey gelding for every farmers son in Rockdale.

He thinks the internet is the “inner net” of his $34m fishing yacht that catches slow squid trying to make a swim for it. They outsmart him frequently.

The word “ dragons” appears right on the bottom of his accountants tax write off book. Nobody on Bruce’s young woke team ( his accountant is only 85) can remember what it means, but it always returns a massive net loss, especially in the 6 or 7 years.

When that happens he'll spit the dummy from Wollongong to the harbour bridge. He thinks he's untouchable hanging with the heavyweights

Good and hopefully he'll take the heavyweight anchors down with him. Could be a Win Win situation with a new Chairman, CEO and Board.
McAnchor can go back to painting and covering cracks, hopefully soon!

Won’t be too long before someone on here gets the honour of posting

“McGregor Sacked”.

Geez that feels good - just to write it.
What a moment.

And the bonus will
be you get to see the presser and the trembling lip as the imposter gets his comeuppance
- as the fans & players get justice & the end of the nightmare.

It’ll be one of those moments where you’ll remember where you were when it happens.

And then the afftermath & recriminations
Should attract a Netflix contract

...and then the adrenaline rush of the new beginning.
Finally.

He’s basically running on engine fumes at the moment.

The thing about these wholesale changes is they can’t be seen as anything but an admission that the past was grossly mishandled.

The Review was poisoned as soon as Mary was invited to contribute. It was fixed from day one and that’s why it has so many questions marks over it.

That it sacked all these people that Mary hired shows he’s completely incompetent in picking the best people. That or or they were actually ok ( or some of them) and It was Marys leadership and decisions that busted the club.

Either way, it’s a complete farce.

He’s been through half the nrl support in his time and his big new thing for 2020 is professional leadership scroungers and meditators.

Like “ oom, oom, oom” is going to turn the players on. Are they going to give them weed with that?

If you can’t lift yourself to play top flight nrl, the best competition in the world by a long shot, you really should call it a day.
