Barnyardabee the Beetrooter was Minister in Charge of the Drought. Cost the Taxpayers 850 thou. The Old Beetrooter submitted something like a three page BS report on his findings.

Got me beat how he gets away with it. Has done the same thing for zonks.

Anyhow counting .... one .... two........... three

maybe so
But the alternative is what?
Everyone is bagging out scomo and liberal party and they deserve it.

but when I see Joel Fitzgibbon not even being able to answer a simple question I think fmd.these merkins are actually worse.
He made Barnaby look like a good bloke.

Mate are you serious.,settle downJust having a shot viz a viz Kryptonite, when I've already stated zeolite is an interesting prospect.
I don't joke about bushfires or fires. My grandfather lost his house(a weekender) to a fire in the Shire decades ago, when the Shire was just 1/3 the size it is today.
Oh and I have both kids and grandkids, and you think I don't want them to live long and healthy lives? Somehow this smoke ,the heat is not affecting them?

NB I've been taking the environment, water usage, pollution and the importance of ,hazard reduction seriously ,before Al Gore went into politics and made a fortune out of telling us what to do..And flying around this place burning fossil fuels.

I also have this habit of questioning statements and views, and I do accept experts in their fields. That's what you can do in a democracy. You see this country is the country of Dorothy MacKellar.

It's the intolerance shown by people in any field who don't like to be questioned, that gets me riled. Not be allowed to question, being shouted down when you express a view point, now that's intolerance.
Questioning is fine.. Ignoring data, ignoring conclusions that have been reached in the same way as all the other scientific evidence that has led to our modern lifestyle and we have so much confidence in we jump into an aircraft ,fly around the world ,expect to be safe.... take whatever treatment doctor recommends, drive over bridges ,work in buildings that only science has given the data to say it will or will not work... but climate change? No let's trust a shock jock with a bag of rice,or a pseoudo scientist who got into his particularfield because he or she knew it would pay well.

Aerodynamics.
Engineering involved in supporting a bridge.
Bodily functions.

Bit more of an exact 'science' than what makes the temperature rise.

The real study should be how high temperatures , recorded in recent history, have been magically lowered in the official records & recent low temperatures have been raised & if the smae methods of measurement & location are used, the temperature has not changed, not 1 tenth of a degree.

Questioning isn’t fine.
Seriously
If you even suggest that your sceptical about how accurate the findings are and you get hammered.

scientists also told me we were running out of oil - that was in 1979

scientists also told me the Y2K bug was going to destroy everyone’s computers.

they currently tell me the world oceans have increased about 0.5 of a degree in the last 25 odd years.

I find it pretty amazing that they can measure the temperature of every drop of water in every ocean in the planet every second of every day for the last 25 years.

Carch if you follow unfunded scientist groups, you find many of them do not support the government funded scientists & their results. The most recent study on warming oceans was an embarrassment to the scientific hacks. after releasing the paper in "nature" magazine, it took just one decent mathemtician about 1 hour to rip it to pieces & then a week , to formalise the rejection to scuttle the papers findings.
it then took over 1 year for the writers to admit they got basic maths & statistic calcualtions totally wrong, in which time they managed to rewrite the paper & use totally different sampling method & error analysis. You can only imagine how many of them were frantically working on it , for over a year, to come up with a method to supply an answer that showed possible warming, not matter how remote. Which is exactly what they did & what they got.
This was a paper peer reviewed & analysed & given the almight "consensus" label by the best that the government funded cliamte scietists have.
it took just 1 decent scientist, to rip it apart.

If I may I will put it in what I consider simple terms.

If you go around shitting in your own nest then sooner of later you will walk in it.

I reckon we are starting to walk in it.

Right or wrong, agree or disagree, I can't think of a better excuse or time to start to clean up our acts.

We only have the one joint to exist in.

that’s true
Pollution is a massive issue, it has been for 40 years that I can remember.

my point was some people’s minds are made up.
They use the “ scientists confirm it” theory.
That goes both ways though.

If you ask a question there are people going ballistic because you dare ask.

Agree but the point is even when one asks a pertinent question ,the intolerant shout the questioner down.
The deniers(some) may well carry on like loons at times, but they are no worse than people who shout you down because shock horror ,you ask .

Science is fantastic I owe my long life to it, else I'd be dead when I was 19 ,from appendicitis.

However scientists at times make mistakes. Eg the disastrous results /impacts of Thalidomide, Agent orange used for defoliation, pesticides. asbestos used to genius fire ,the after affects incalculable.

And the very invention of the aeroplane ,has led to an increase in pollution, and their use by many people who are full on about the problems with the climate. And science has given us plastics ,steel used to make these bridges(steel that requires large quantities of coal for powering the furnaces.
And of course Chernobyl which is going to take 20,000 years to get back to normality.

And doctors make mistakes even with all the modern facilities available to them.Misdiagnosis.

A Cook Uni scientist(not a pseudo specialist) by the name off Ridd was sacked because he stated the Barrier Reef based on his continual studies, is not dying but going through the usual changes reefs do.ie they die off and rejuvenate on a regular basis.
Now if I question, why don't demonstrators bang their drums outside Chinese,Indian and Brazilian embassies being major polluters, all I get it is STFU ,this is about Australia not what happens overseas.

If I state Albanese has publicly admitted you just can't close down the coal industry, the job results would be disastrous and China could source from other countries. Why do the left ignore him, is he protected?

I'm not ignoring data.If data states there will be more cyclones than before and there is not.Oh well maybe next time then?I understand the data glaciers are melting, we have a big drought, and the hottest for X number of years, and the oceans getting warmer.
I accept that.
The last people I listen to are shock Jocks Jones/Hadley/FitzSimons (agenda driven ),or the extreme the Left and Right, nor the muck raking press.
I'm no denier,I am just a mere pleb who asks questions .The day I can't ask valid questions I may as well migrate to flippin North Korea, and become a welcome ,yes man.

I accept that.
but what if the data you getting is a fabrication?
The only data that shows rising temperatures is temperature homogenisation. In a nut shell, what that means the official temperture recorders (eg BOM) decided that where we originally took temperature samples, were not "ideal", so they moved them. Generally to warmer locations.
They then went into the official recorded temperatures, & decided that the people that read them, the equipment that measured them, were inaccurate, so they lowered the warm temperatures & lifted the low temperatures.
Homogenisation works if you have static results, like an engine runing at 3500 rpm on how much energy it uses.
To apply homogenisation to wildly varying data like temp, is insane.
They need to just accept the recordings of the time & put the missing data back & take the added data away.
& guess what happens when they do that? No temperature rise!

They provide an explanation of what they have done, how they have done it and why they have done it.

Also, unadjusted data still shows warming.

Ooh you can't say that, the thought police will be upon ye.Yes I have read that about the recording issues.
I accept data if laid out clearly.
There are so many possibilities as to what is or maybe isn't happening and its effect.
1)World population growth is huge.
2) Rain forests being cleared at an astonishing rate
3)Our records go back only so far, to draw real comparisons. We've had some shocking droughts in the 1800s
4) We have had predictions in the 70s and the latter part of the 20th Century and they were wrong in their timeline.
5)The trouble with weather ,and it's been the case for yonks ,it is not a constant. Wouldn't wish it on anyone, but where's the cyclones predicted for Australia East coast this year.
A mate's grandson is a keen every day surfer and stated the water was colder later than usual off Cronulla.
All of the above are not hearsay.

Ha fair enough then. They told us why they made record temperatures cooler historically & recent cool temperatures warmer. ITs ok then! They told us why!
Also, anadjusted data does not show warming, as there is no unadjusted data. The temperatures are measured at different locations. Warmer locations.

the water temp changes every couple of days.
I surf 2-3 times a week
I take 2 steamers and a spring suit every time.
4.3
3.2
2.2 springy
The 4.3 doesn’t get much use
The other 2 though I need because of the radical temp changes.
It’s the wind that determines the way the currents will flow.
It can be bloody hot as shit on land and like ice in the water.

***I’m not talking 0.5 of a degree either.
It jumped from 17 to 21 over night at Xmas.

That is true
They used to take water temps in close
Now they don’t
They’ve disregarded 30000 km of coastline in Australia alone.
