Roosters do far more junior development than Souths.

Souths Juniors, unattached to their senior club, graciously funds the local area and does a magnificent job of it.

Souths NRL funds zero junior clubs, but claims the entire area as their own, half of which were stolen from better clubs. They claim juniors as a matter of pride, despite having a large junior area essentially being a matter of random luck/theft, and despite refusing to actually play anywhere near 'their' juniors, and despite the fact that 75% of their regions residents would in fact claim to live in the eastern suburbs.

Roosters of course fund 4 junior clubs. 4 is infinitely more than 0.
As well as supporting the historic North Sydney Bears, and through them their junior league.
As well as pairing with Balmain to provide a stronger junior league, after the big wigs at Souths ruthlessly cut childrens out of their league in retaliation for "poaching" Nat f**king Butcher.

Roosters also have twice the number of junior rep teams as South Sydney do, supporting both a local SG Ball and Harold Matthews squad, and Central Coast ones.

Roosters provide countless players to NSW, QLD, Australia, and NZ rep sides while Souths seem incapable of bringing players through to rep football.

It's really a no contest.

More CRAP dressed up the Rooster way , a little fact with plenty of distortion and ignorance.

Souths Juniors and Souths have an agreement and work together . Souths juniors focus on junior competition and provide a pathway to Souths NRL . There have been various funding arrangement overtime , it changes. Overtime , Souths Junior club became a powerhouse , whilst the Souths Senior Leagues club went into decline and now does not exist, During Souths tough years , Souths juniors would provide direct funding to Souths NRL , the same way Souths Senior Leagues club provided direct funding. Souths Juniors , like Souths Seniors club were independent organisations to the Souths Football team.Souths Seniors are no more , and Souths juniors have looked at taking over the Souths Football club and who knows may do so in the future. however until now , they have declined in order to keep their focus/funding on junior development . Junior development for Souths.

Have you ever wondered why the Souths Juniors logo is a "a souths player " with a rabbit emblem.

As for Rooster development , sure they spend money at the junior representative point. Best I can see , their focus is on getting the best young talent from all other junior development organisations into their junior rep teams. A majority of the these players who finally make it NRL , have all played for Junior NSW/QLD or Australian teams before they have been signed into their junior rep teams.

They are first degree poachers , using the development programs of UN Affiliated organisations.

As for cutting the handful of Rooster junior clubs out of the Souths Junior program. Are you blaming Souths Juniors or Souths NRL for this ? LOL idiot. The affiliation suits you , when you want to make your case. Anyway , the Rooster junior clubs were kicked out , because they broke an agreement with souths juniors. The agreement was that Roosters could play in the Souths competition as long as there was no poaching of Souths junior players. Roosters broke this by going after and signing Nat Butcher , who at that time was extremely well regarded by the Souths development program.

If you are referring to recents threads , Cocky and myself , you will note that the initial comment was that Souths should follow the Rooster junior development .

Souths junior development focus and programs are good and have been working to develop and keep young players. Other Clubs can discuss their own junior development , however if they want to start a pissing contest, please provide facts and stop making outlandish comments like Cocky did.

As for JAC , you do know
1) he went to Matraville high school ( souths area)
2) he played for La Perouse , souths junior
3) he was played for Souths SGBALL , however due to off-field incidents , he was released. He then was signed by Sharks and later by Tigers. He is another Souths junior, who may want to come home , like Roberts.
JAC being a junior is irrelevant. If he goes to Souths that will be 4 Australian players they signed in 12 months. Plus resigning cook and walker to go with their other origin and international players. How is this evening out the comp. looks like there’s more than 1 sombrero in operation.

From what peter trunks said on talking sport about this was that the management of butcher and another Souths junior were offered to the seniors but they were told they wouldn’t be signed so the management went to roosters.

Making room for juniors by assing younger juniors out of the squad, the souths way.

Ha , you do realise NRL is a business.

First thing is to develop players to reach their potential . This is a good thing .

Once that occurs , tough decisions have to be made in order to have a successful team.

In the current 31 listed souths players , 9 are souths juniors. 5 are in the starting 13. A reasonable effort.

again lol at the distortion of facts

Yes , Souths were given final chance to match the large value that Roosters had already offered .

This is poaching. Which is why Souths Juniors were pissed , after all their development spending on Butcher.

Souths contribute very little to juniors compared to development clubs, if every club handled their business like Souths RL would be in very big trouble very quickly.

I’m only repeating what Tunks said. He seemed pretty pissed at Souths not wanting them. But I’m sure you know better.

what has Tunks got to do with anything , anybody regarding Souths? sour grapes comes to my mind.

Also just consider, why would Souths Juniors have been upset with the Roosters if Nat Butcher went to the Roosters ?

If as you quote Tunks , Souths were not interested in Nat , surely Souths Juniors would have been upset with Souths NRL? I think you will find , that Souths could not match the Roosters offer, which was a poach , and against the agreement between Roosters and Souths Juniors.THINK

Maybe in the nines

Yeah there's been a bit of noise about Carney getting one last outing to say goodbye to the NRL. Stupid petitions & so on- I can only imagine he started them himself given I don't think any fans of clubs he repped remember him fondly.

Personally as a Raiders fan I hate the idea of him ever turning out in green again. He tried to jump back aboard recently once the club was doing well again & god a stiff, "No" from Ricky & the board.

He should turn out for the CHooks if he wants a swansong. That was his last club & where he won his awards.

Unfortunately JC & he both grew up playing in the same country rep teams & so on as juniors so they're mates.

exactly........a real test of real junior development.

You have not heard of them and yet they are in Souths latest 30 squad..........REAL JUNIORS.

You are so wrapped up in your FAKE Rooster junior development , you have no idea

You need some minimum wage nobodies in your squad when you are trying to buy a premiership.
