Reading TCT I thought he was a quality player, great defender and a possible back up to Reed.
After watching that i thought his service was ordinary and struggled as a 9.
The hooking position is not just a position anyone can slot into.
Davies from what I have seen is better suited to the halves.
Just my opinion.
So who does that leave us for the back up 9.?

I watched him offer absolutely nothing in the Wenty final where they shit the bed. Somehow he was offered a development contract, and even more embarrassing he was offered a top 30 spot. But but but he’s tries hard. He’s the new Luke Kelly/DillSmith.

Every top 30 has at least ten merkins who are 'not up to it'.

If Mahoney was out for a long period Kyle would need to step up.

I think we can draw some parallels with rugby and sevens. How often do those results, or the make up of the teams, mirror each other? Not often. An NRL stacked team doesn't necessarily equal a good nines team. OTOH it's hardly a plus mark in terms of coaching. How relevant that is is another question. So while I'm slitting my wrists I might chuck a bit of ice in the bath.

Yep. The nines World Cup was awesome and had me pumped for this but it has been pretty gash.
