NSWRL says that Thirlmere will continue to next round of Challenge Cup as a "wildcard", which with 6 winners makes 7 teams. This suggests another team will be added.

It guarantees the Ron Massey Cup 18th man can play Sydney Shield. They can also drop their Ron Massey Cup interchange bench to Sydney Shield as well. They are struggling for players so this will help.
Mine would be

St Marys, Wenty, Mounties, Asquith - Top 4

Guildford, Cabramatta, Hills

Fiji, Glebe, Windsor, Blacktown to fight it out for 8th spot
1. Fiji
2. St Marys
3. Mounties
4. Wenty
5. Glebe
6. Blacktown
7. Asquith
8. Hills
Fiji beating PNG in trial match 58-10. Will be winning this years cup

What has happened to their hundreds of juniors that have come through over the last 10+ years?

This alleged 58-10 game must be in some fantasy league. The Silktails had their first trial game on the weekend against another fiji zonal team. They will play 2 more trials against local teams before the RMC starts. What is the strength of the silktails - no one can possibly say at this stage. The team may be similar to that which played against Scomo's Australian team team last year - it had 2 players with RMC experience. Apart from the strength factor, the biggest influence on results will be travelling - Fiji will win games at home but may struggle to win any in Oz.

Not every player in Fiji is as good as Sivo, who also had the benefit of a full season in SS and another in RMC.

Speaking to the Silktails S&C coach and some other Fijian lads based in Sydney, the first season will be tough for them.

Barely any of them have played structured footy or seen any sort of training program that would be common amongst RMC and NSW Cup players.

I'm sure there'll be some bruised bodies and tight games, but I can't see them giving the top four sides too much of a challenge, particularly with the travel factor.
