No way he can know that any profit correlates directly or even in part to the no fault stand down rule!

Politics!

Politics!

Or by speaking to the sponsors he knows their collective thoughts on it and the ramifications (not being involved in the game) of not taking a strong and correct stance.

Remember it is "No Fault" and we don't have the potential of some very bad merkin running out there on the field week in week out creating very negative headlines and the public being influenced by them.

V’landys opening chairman report paragraph.
Lol I wonder if he knows grass hills are now a minority in RL. He seems very stuck n the past!

“Only in rugby league, can thousands of people from diverse backgrounds and views fill a suburban hill in unity”

V’landys comment; This year, the Commission will make a determination on the optimum footprint for our game – rest assured, no Sydney club will be forced to relocate.

Last year, it was no Sydney club will be relocated.

Good results. Almost could use the profits to grow the game.

But we better just keep it centralised in Sydney and Brisbane though.

We had significant profits at the beginning of the last TV rights deal too. And costs went up as the deal went on. Safe to say it'll happen again this time around.

How much money does the NRL have stashed away ?
If we have made 30mil profit for the past 3 years it would be close to 100million ?

Where is this money and what does the NRL plan to do with it?

That figure does not include contra.

Add in contra and the revenue is 555,914,757.

2017 lost $3.7mill
2018 surplus $42mill
2019 surplus $30mill

around $72mill in cash after two years of tv deal. Vlandys has stated he wants $200mill to invest in other revenue generating investments to manage the risk of future tv deals not being as much.
