If you're going to bring in outsiders you want them to make the place better, not worse. You don't even want them to make it just-as-bad-but-more-diverse.

Immigrants need to be held to a higher standard or else what's the point of bringing them in? This is why countries have restrictive immigration policies.

No I don't. Vulnerable people have always distrusted outsiders. But Trump has confirmed to many people that they're not alone in their concerns, so in a sense his election may have given a voice to the voiceless.

But it was the voiceless who put him there. Trump didn't elect himself.
