As a kid I used to love Fa'afili for his try celebrations. I can't clearly remember if he was a good player or not, though

So here it goes;

Brisbane Broncos: Scott Minto

Canberra Raiders: Josh Hodgson

Canterbury Bulldogs: Hazem El Masri

Cronulla Sharks: James Maloney

Eastern Suburbs/Sydney City: Jason Cayless

Gold Coast Titans: Preston Campbell

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles: Steve Matai

Melbourne Storm: Cooper Cronk

Newcastle Knights: George Carmont

North Queensland Cowboys: Matty Bowen (just ahead of JT)

New Zealand Warriors: Sione Faumuina (despite his off-field digressions was always my favourite player)

Parramatta Eels: Nathan Hindmarsh

Penrith Panthers: Luke Lewis

South Sydney Rabbitohs: Roy Asotasi

St George Dragons: Wes Naiqama

Wests Tigers: Benji Marshall

And my team (excuse the bias):

1. RTS
2. Vatuvei
3. Matai
4. Toopi
5. Meli
6. Marshall
7. Jones
8. Paleaaesina
9. Marsh
10. E. Tuimavave
11. Lauti'iti
12. Mannering
13. Faumuina

14. B. Webb
15. Price
16. L. Lewis
17. J. Cayless

A couple of odd choices. Tuimavave was always one of my favourite players, especially in 06 when he was beast for us. I actually would've had Faumuina at 5/8 as I always liked the idea of playing him there and sorta wish Cleary persisted with it, but went with Marshall as it wasn't really proven. A Matai/Toopi centre combo wouldn't work either as they were both left side players, but a man can dream.

Every time I read someone else's reply I often think to myself, 'maybe that player was my favourite, not the one I picked?'.

To be honest mate, I'm a bit lost on how Jake Granville can be your favourite Nth Queensland player? Is a relative or something :)

Well...

Um, yeah I have to think about it. OK, the Cowboys were firmly my second team throughout their great run, circa 2014-17. So much so that I went to one of their GFs, my brother went to both. I just thought Granville, all bow-legged and shaggy-headed, was a character. He was in everything, his commitment and particularly his service out of dummy-half was excellent. This all seemed in contrast to the Warriors.

In fact, I used to think 'a player like him would never come here (to the Warriors)' and I was right. He'd probably come now though, as he's faded somewhat, much like the team he still plays for.

Granville is such a mystery. Was phenomenal (the real motm in the '15 grand final)... then just stopped running and was never even close to the same player.

wtf happened?

You'd have to think coaching, right? Curbed insticts?
