Constantly hearing/reading that Latrell Mitchell needs time to settle into FB is nonsense.

He joined the club claiming to have always been a FB and has over 100 games of first grade/rep rugby league under his belt. He's getting paid a decent first grade contract but is treated by the club and supporters like an 18 year old rookie.

Adam Doueihi returned from knee surgery with no previous experience in the position and put in far better performances in the position than Latrell did returning from a preseason.

GI's switch to FB sparked Souths in 2012 and beyond. His first appearance there against (from memory) Penrith was fantastic and was a glimpse into the next few years.

Latrell has the ability to succeed in the position but he lacks the work ethic to be the elite FB he should be imo.

Firstly, I am extremely thankful that Latrell most likely won't miss any games because of this. That is a massive relief. However, taking my Red and Green glasses off, I can' help but feel that these sanctions are a little light. I was fearing the worst and expecting us to be without Latrell for at least a month.

With all due respect Southy, I don't appreciate being called a traitor. I support this club with all my heart and it is my life which hopefully you know. I have said multiple times that I love Latrell and support him fully but this is one of those situations you just can't defend. It's being realistic, what they did was just not okay in this current climate. There are livelihoods at stake here and on an even bigger scale, lives at stake. It's not okay to break the rules and there is no excuse. I'd say exactly the same if a family member of friend (all people I love) were in the same position.
I completely feel the same way mate well said. This club means so much to me as well but you can’t sugar coat what Latrell did. It just isn’t good enough and he’s brought all this latest media stuff all on himself imo.

I also think he got off lightly. If it was me I’d have given him 4 weeks out.

Also on this weekend he spent with “the brothers” why wasn’t he using that time to put in extra training up in Taree if he so so badly wants the number 1 jersey.

Personally I feel we need to put AJ back at the back (he’s not a match winner but he will be very solid for us) and Latrell can play at centre and hopefully put his head down.

Bennett is gonna hopefully help Latrell get on the right path one would hope. As we can all see he’s still got a lot of growing up and maturing to do but will that happen? I hope it does and he’s not gonna throw away all his talent.....

Some great news today!

Jaydn Su’A activates option in contract for Season 2021: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2020/04/30/jaydn-sua-activates-option-in-contract-for-season-2021/

Su'A seals his South Sydney Future: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2020/04/30/sua-seals-his-south-sydney-future/

Very happy to see this. For me, Jaydn is a potential superstar. He does have a lot to work on but you can see that he has all the makings of a great second rower and I'm very excited to see how he develops.
Well here is some good news.

He still needs to work on his defence but he should be coming into his prime soon.

Happy to see this finalised and it's a good move from the club. I love Ello and I'm sure he's a great man for that role. Will be interesting to see how he goes.

Shit, not good. Hopefully all of them are all clear!!! God, I hope they are. Good to see everyone following protocols though.
This is gonna be the new norm bro if we are to restart. So many players are gonna get a cold or flu. I reckon they’ll be fine.

NRL advising that players on development contracts will be available to play from round 3.
"Players on development contracts will be available to play as soon as the competition resumes on May 28, easing the rule that required an NRL exemption for them to be named before June 30."

Well that’s big news.

So now if Reyno or Cody were to go down we could blood Ta’affe which is awesome.

Club Statement regarding COVID-19 Tests

As per media reports tonight (Monday), three Rabbitohs players were tested for COVID-19 (coronavirus) following the presentation of mild symptoms this morning.

Results have shown that all players have been cleared of COVID-19 infection.

The Rabbitohs are taking the NRL’s health protocols very seriously, hence why these three players were sent for testing today.

New NRL world - Players pay deal kicks off training in COVID-19 times: https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/05/05/rlpa-agrees-to-new-pay-deal-with-nrl/

While Reyno and Knighty came in today, Latrell was apparently still told to stay home as he woke up with flu-like symptoms again. Standard opporating procedure and it's great that both Latrell and the club are following protocols. At least we know he doesn't have COVID.

No idea if he'll be in tomorrow for an official start to training but we'll see, I guess it depends how he feels.

There's some speculation that Ado-Carr will be at Souths next season, if this comes to pass will we be buying into a bag of trouble?
