Playing option for squad / dropped NRL players

So with the ISC and other State comps gone....e.g Hastings Deering ... where are the excess / unused NRL players getting a game for maintaining match fitness ?

I'm sure the Atherton Roosters could accommodate Valentine Holmes or Jason Taumolola for a few games if need be
