what did he say?
Pretty much wants players that perform and have defensive capabilities, not worried about what they offer on attack.
some players could head back to NZ. Aust players have their families here but NZ players do not which doesn’t help the cause

what did he say?

Too many things to list but basically called out the teams commitment, their habit of dropping their bundle when things go against them, being homesick no excuse, team will be picked based on defence and effort going forward.

It all sounds nice, but we'll see. Words and actions don't really align in Warriorland.

Aside from Fus, Egan and Burr all coming straight back into side, Perham, Pulu and Vuniyayawa to all come in as well. Let’s get some competitiveness for jerseys going. If any of the Development players are in Aus then i’d have no issue when a few of those 19yr olds getting a run as well

What the hell is that Jersey?

Is it gold? Is it coffee?

Storm 55m gain.

Storm inside the 10m on first set.

49m on our first.

Blair make top 20 all time players.

Ken claiming a try, goes up no try and goes touch in goal, so 7 tackle set.

Paps no good, grass burn on his head.

Munsta now grabbing a knee, looks like Lawton fell on it in tackle.

5 tackles and never went the 1 legged Munsta.

Gain a penalty for a escort on Herbert.

Wow Herbery gets it down against the wrestling. Goes up try. Doesnt really look like one in slow mo. But went upstairs try so of course they turn it away as a 50/50.

Herbert hunts down the Fox and takes him out.

Welsh to fast out of line and HIA contaxt with Blair forearm.

Ken catches bomb and returns over halfway. Hughes tackles around the ankles to being him down.

Green kick looks to big but Hughes takes it trapped in goal.

10mins in no tackle restarts.

Melbourne penalised for a strip after tackle complete.

RTS kick through after a flat set at their line run away by Fox, taken by Hiku and Green over top. Lawton falls off next tackle and Storm score easily.

4-0

Lawton HIA, CTH on.

Set restart for Storm as Green pushed back into ruck by Smith.

Hiku cant get one as Storm player doesnt clear ruck by stepping over.

CTH knee knocks ball out of Kafosi getting up to play it. Called lost.

Nothing offered in attack.

Lucky second kick by Hiku bounces off storm into each other and accidental offside.

Nothing gained. If only we had better finishing.

Lost ball on Storm 40m by a solid tackle.

Vuna runs around Ken to easily.

3 on 2.

RTS and Hiku let him run pass, RTS stops on a dime.

10-0

Ref Smith calls a penalty as Papalli just touched his boot.

f**k off ref. Milking is the call.

37min and first time Storm tackled in our 20m.

Pap scores from dummy half.

Soft defense. To easy.

16-0

Lawton out for game

So is Storm Crighton.

RTS does well to get out of the ingoal.

Ken knocks on a bomb with Vunas help, who scoops it back and Storm score in corner and camera man gets a body check.

22-0

Biggest loss on cards here?

Defense looking weak.

NAS brought down at line, but Papalli doesnt clear/cant clear ruck.

Storm put it down.

Tackle restart on tackle 0 for us.

Hold on B Smith can interfere with hooker and no penalty. Then get up and give a push. Double f**ken standards.

K Bromwich accidental offside 10m out.

Harris throws an intercept trying to get it out wide to the left.

Had a 4 on 3 on right during the set and turned it to a forward back inside. Arggg

HALFTIME.

Men against boys.

Payton had broken a 89year old record being a mid season coach held to 0 at halftime.

Harris earns penalty on first set, AFS punches ball out.

CTH earns penalty from dummy half dive at line.

Storm defense solid in the middle, Herbert rewarded out wide after 3 sets back to back.

22-6

Harris loses ball in tackle following a tackle called milking when Storm laying in ruck.

Solid scramble defense there.

Captains challenge on pass that touched Passi. How is that allowed? As not a penalty, just an end to a set? Can you challenge anything after any tackle?

Pap scores, but captains challenge called, CTH taken out by NAS, but called no impact. Sure ive seen that called back this year no matter what happens next and people blowing up about it. Lets correct it against the Warriors.

26-6

Herbert stripped and awarded penalty.

K Bromwich stays down after getting in RTS way running through for a chip

Fox caught in goal.

Restarted tackle, Smith then gets to hold on for an age as apparent surrender tackle.

RTS floats on to high for Hebert who knocks it on.

3 stuffed tries

Vina bobbles and loses it into Nikorima.

RTS pissed off, Beale tackled as getting ball and loses it on line.

4th bombed try.

To easy for Storm, go wide on last, chip through and regathered Hughes not finihsed and passes to Vuna to score.

Just more desire.

32-6

No one on bench for Storm as 2 getting HIA

Restart for nothing for Storm.

B Smith runs 20m as no markers and CTH falls off.

Hughes kicks through and Vuna scores off his wing at ⅓ pace..

38-6

Fox stops in line, Storm didnt want to score it, but threw the ball to Ken.

Next min Nikorima throws an intercept.

But Storm lose it a tackle later, but ref has a penalty in his pocket for them as we inside the 10m.

Brandon Smith easily burrows over the top of Blair 2m out. Embarrassing.

44-6

Storm knock on.

Tackle restart on their 20m.

Green grubber no good.

Blair makes a break then throws a stupid no look flick to Storm.

Best defensive set in last 9mins.

Tackle restart, next tackle Hiku loses ball with Bromwich help called lost.

Smith kick through has the Fox get his foot to it before RTS and celebrates try with a headbut to the ground!

50-6

Recording misses last minute.

We don't have the squad numbers to pick from, so not sure how this happens.

So he’ll be looking for 2 new centres, a 1/2 back and and couple of utility forwards then. I’ve been a fan of Hiku but he had cement in his boots tonight.

I know Hiku has provided some slick service to the wings, but the downside isn't worth the upside anymore IMO.

Perham needs an extended run at centre so we can find out what he really has.

No idea what we're planning to do with Fusitua. Wing/centre, don't think he even really knows.

Herbert is average, but he generally puts in so I'd keep him.

Maumalo has no business on the wing, we've completely f**ked him over IMO, but is there even anyone in the squad to replace him with?

All this talk of players wanting to go home is fine by me. Grab some reserve graders for all I care, use the rest of the season as an extended trial. If we find some young/fringe guys like P.o. who the might also want to stay on longer then it's been worth it.

Perham needs an extended run at centre so we can find out what he really has. strongly agree with this

Herbert is average, but he generally puts in so I'd keep him. till we find someone better. weaknesses outweigh his strengths

Maumalo has no business on the wing, we've completely f**ked him over IMO, but is there even anyone in the squad to replace him with? Theres nowhere to hide him on the field against teams that have half a brain. The Giant wing project needs to stop now. Tony Iro started out on the wing and ended up in the forwards. If Maumalo cant make a transition to a second rower role, then we need to jettison him.

I will be interested to see what Paytens take is on Tevaga. He was Kearneys golden child.
Also be interested to see if he will persevere with IP.
IP is a quandary. His tackling effort last night cant be denied, but its his ability to produce shit for brain penalties and beyond basic errors, that have been his main issue since he started playing. Plus he is plod on attack. (not the only one to be fair) He subbed in for Katoa on those left edge attacks in the Storms twenty and the difference was stark. Katoa has played a dozen games of league yet miles better than IP already.

If Payten is basing things on attitude and defence you'd think he'd be safe as those are what he brings.

Pap plays like Michael Luck but thinks like Sam Lisone. Not a good combo.

If, as been reported in the media as possible, some warrior players decide to bail home, whether their contracts can be terminated legally. That would be good, unless RTS or Tohu. Might be a great way to free up salary cap for a proper rebuild.

Let em go I reckon. But that's 2020 dusted for them, they still keep their contracts.

2021 coach can decide how they figure in next year's lineup.
