Pretty bloody happy with that. The actual performance leaves a lot to be desired but the result is good.

How good was Nathan! That defence is the second half was brutal, and him getting back into the field of play, he really lifted us.

We should’ve iced that game a lot earlier, to many errors in good position in the last 20 and too many penalties in the first half. The cows aimed up but we were punching through them everywhere. We made breaks and half’s breaks all game long, cooler heads and better hands would’ve seen us score 30 or 40.

It was a frustrating game to watch because it reminded me so much of our performances last year where we kept making so many errors and struggled to score points when attacking inside the oppositions 20. On the plus side at least we didn’t give away lots of dumb penalties like we did last year. And if Billy Burns gets picked this week over Matt Burton I will start to get concerned there maybe something going on behind the scenes we aren’t aware of.

Charlie saw the specialist on Thursday. I dont know the results but the club would know his condition well before he returns to the bubble.

Talk is 4-6 weeks. Depending on how it reacts to treatment. It could be longer. He dislocated both TMJ's.
He avoided a tetanus infection for now.
Big risk of reoccurring. The last thing he needs is a knock to it.

I do want to say I've been critical of Mansour but he deserve high praise for that game and I gave him an 8 in the other thread to reflect that. Broke the line a few times which was good to see.

Happy with the effort from the Cowboys. Just lacked the polish. Probably one of the best games I've seen Cleary play, am I wrong? If you guys make a deep run into the finals, please knock out Parramatta. Sick of hearing the suck fest.
I like you... You can stay.

Burns is playing out of position as a stop gap measure. Made errors, yep, but also had some solid moments.

This is the same thing that happened to Fui last year. People crucify a guy for playing in a position that isn't natural to them.
I just rewatched the game and I agree he deserves a bit of slack.
He obviously had a few shockers but it’s the first time he has played long minutes all year, and was out of position doing it. He was totally exhausted.
I was harsh on him during the game as I thought he was going to be the reason we lost but he hung in there and got better towards the finish, with a couple of important tackles tackles and the line break.
I actually laughed a bit when I rewatched him down the line, he wanted no part of it, lol.
He was out on the wing trying to catch a break, his face when he found himself in the clear was more ohhh damn than ohh yes.

He'll be on the bench again. I'm starting to think the coach will use our back up fullback as the back up fullback. May did well at centre and that will bring Burton onto the bench.

No, you are right. That performance was good because we were struggling and he turned up and did the one percenters and led the way with effort. Those hits he did and the struggle to get out of the in-goal were worth more than any flash halfback play. The team visibly lifted in intensity when he made those plays.

Your team reminded me of watching the Panthers for the last few years. You toiled away with great defence, then gave away a penalty to undo all the good work. You let us off the hook so many times when you had us trapped in our own 20m zone. You also struggled to create in attack, but your go forward is pretty good. Fix the discipline and with bit more experience for your younger players and you will be very competitive again.

If Staines was fit this week he’d surely be the next in line at FB. Problem with Aekins is he probably isn’t even our 3rd best fullback.

It was by far our worst performance of the year but got the win atleast

That is it. Even the try Naden scored he missed the play and had to sprint to get in position.

He gave an obstruction away. A couple of errors trying to set guys up.

Naden and Crichton will be the centres this week. Burns back to bench spot and in his normal role

I'm in the minority here, as I thought the game was great.

Billy Burns, needs to get the errors out of his game, and the penalties too. Burns almost lost us the game.

Dean Whare should be penisoned off. His unfortunate injury occurred within the firs 5 minutes of the game. That combined with Dylan Edwards, injury in the 60th minute, left us short of replacements. In years gone by, we would have shit the bed, and lost.

Nathan Cleary he really stood up, his leadership was evident yesterday. His game was of origin standard. Hopefully, he has silenced his critics?

James Fisher-Harris, and Isiah Yeo, what machines? Stephen Crichton is improving every game, and Spencer Leniu is impressive.

Bring on the Titans.

MWZ is decent enough on the wing. FB is the concern

I’d prefer to play Crichton at FB, but if we can’t I’d play Burton before MWZ on the wing. I’m certain Burton could do at least the same job as MWZ.

If they really don’t want to move Crichton then I’d even play Burton before Aekins at FB.

I would have Aekins as FB. Although not dynamic he is reliable and latterly I saw signs of a passing game. I did see somewhere Charlie Staines was due back round 11 ie this coming round.

I would be surprised if Charlie plays given this lock jaw injury.

I want to keep the left side together

Burton would be wasted on the wing. Should be fullback that way we can use his ball playing
