Interested to hear what Aekins did wrong for the Fogarty try @mxlegend99? Obviously other than not being Matty Moylan Burton that is.

& the Kelly try, was that him disguised as Naden who decided to run in field for no apparent reason giving his opposing number a salon run to the try line?

The lengths some will go to...

They’ll probably want Luai and Cleary to start over the next two weeks, given the quality of opposition in the Chip Stealers and the Raiders.

Perhaps they may consider resting either Luai or Cleary and give Burton a shot for the Round 14 game against the Warriors

Or the Cowboys a few weeks later once Api and Edwards are back

We were cruising at 10 nil and then like we have been doing we start doing silly things that let them back into the game. It wasnt the replacements either. They scored off the back of Jerome and Mansours mistakes first. I know we were missing a lot of guys but good teams have been resting guys v titans this year, they arent an NRL quality side, not by a long shot. It was good to get the win with so many guys out but it was really annoying after dominating that first half we let them in with a sniff.

They had no sniff that 2nd half. That was the pleasing part for me

Losing Aekins 10 games of experience would have really killed us.

Why train Burton in these positions if he won't geta run even ahead of average players? Aekins was not terrible. He wasn't good though. Our back 3 only defused 50% of kicks and were werhere to be seen on the Fogarty try or Kelly try. For a supposedly safe option his positioning is not that great and he only looked good returning kicks when Titans were pinned in own half. His 1 try assist in 6 games came from a pass that missed the mark and To'o picked up to score from..

We also need minutes in Burton's legs if we want him to be ready when we need him. Its not in the teams best interest if he is needed week 1 of finals and his last game was Round 4. He will not have match fitness and he will be rusty having not had time to work on his skills.

We couldnt pick him to be honest. Would need to be May as he's the one getting minutes

Why would you in a close game put someone with zero experience playing in such a key position? It needed to be a blow out to get that to happen

He may have been training at Centre/Wing/Fullback - but the fact that Cleary hasn't pulled the trigger on him yet indicates that he's probably not going that well. He's absolutely first drop in the halves - and may be a walk up starter at other clubs. Maybe he is *just* a specialist half? I don't understand why that is seen as such a negative.

Remember when we were using Cartwright as a gap-fill 5/8? And everyone said we were ruining his development as a back-rower? Turned out to be fairly accurate. Maybe Ivan has learnt from Hook's mistakes.

We're 9/1/1. We have an ever growing injury list. We need stability where ever we can get it - and at the moment, that's our halves. And we don't have NSW Cup for him to carve up. All that equates to Burton riding the pine, or missing out on the Top 17. Sucks for him. Doesn't seem to be hurting the team too much at this stage.

You're obsession on this topic is very strange. Seems like every post of yours is either complaining that Burton isn't playing, or doomsday theorising that he's already out the door. Not gonna lie, I almost hope he does go the Dogs, and that you follow him onto their forum.

Likewise. I am entitled to my view point, and I will not, and I repeat, will not be bullied by you.

Naden started dropping back to try and cover the fullback when he saw the kick coming he didnt do anything wrong the kick was just to good. Aekins wasnt involved in the previous tackle, he wasnt in the line. He just wasnt in position. Watch him from the play the ball, they are shifting left straight away with a deep back line set and hes just jogging along behind our line well behind the movement of the ball across the field.

I think this has been mentioned previously but I just watched Don’s try at the end of the first half and Copley definitely bobbled and lost the ball prior to Don scoring.

Both Fatty and Joey said it was a knock on. Shame none of the Panthers were aware of it as they could’ve asked the ref to go to the Bunker to review it.

And yes, it’s hard to fault Mansour for the try as he was involved in the tackle on Copley. Critta should’ve positioned himself better.

It definitely wasn't on Mansour. He made the previous tackle. Surprised May didn't get across being te next guy there.

I'm not trying to bully you, and I'm sorry if that final comment was taken as such.

I'm a Burton fan. I've mentioned before that I would have been happy for him to get the nod in Rnd 1. And I thought he thoroughly outplayed Luai in Rnds 3 - 4. But Ivan didn't agree, and Luai has bounced back in a big way. I even advocated for Burton to play Fullback this week before the team was named. But I support the team above all else.

Given our ladder position, I just cannot understand how anyone can argue that we've made the wrong choice by benching Burton. We're undefeated since Tyrone May has come back. We would have been 10 wins, 1 loss if Cleary played against Newcastle.

I'm happy to engage with you on this topic if you're willing to meet in the middle, and not get so defensive. Everything that has come direct from a Panthers source about Burton has indicated that he's in our plans long term. And we've all seen him on the paddock - he's a gun. I just don't see how he fits in the team at the moment, unless Cleary or Luai are injured.
