St George Illawarra have confirmed Dragons front-rower Paul Vaughan broke the NRL's Covid-19 biosecurity measures on Thursday morning.

The Dragons are disappointed with Vaughan's conduct and are working with the NRL and Project Apollo to determine his availability for the Dragons' Round 13 clash against the Sydney Roosters.

Hopefully they will test all concerned to see if anyone is positive. I hope Vaughan plays and Ellis and Blacker are given game time from now until seasons end. Both Merrin and Lawrie are not adding a lot to our go foward these days.

A chance to have a look at Kaide Ellis. I wonder what position he'll play in the last 12 mins when he gets on?
Along a similar line, can’t stop wondering all week if McGregor has put Sailor on earlier and let him acclimatised to the game whether that intercept pass pass may not have been thrown.....

What was the stupid prick doing having breakfast with who. As someone suggested a player agent trying to stitch a deal at Newcastle. Fair dinkum what is happening to the place. I'm beginning to wonder why he doesn't have much of a dig not as powerful as he showed before.

Supremely dumb by Vaughan. Would not begrudge the club for adding their own punishment on top of the NRLs 14 day protocol. This isn't a simple mistake, it was a calculated and purposeful attempt to break the rules and knowingly put his club at risk.

Worth noting for any not sure, a negative test does not and should not mean his quarantine is over.

Danny Weidler initially reported Vaughan used a fake name to avoid detection. It has since emerged that the forward didn’t sign in to the cafe.

“The lack of name led to suggestion he used a false name. He didn’t know there was a sign in,” Weidler tweeted.

Ellis should have been picked before Vaughn's screw up. It's not as if Merrin, Lawrie and co are giving us any grunt up front. The club is like Grand Central Station- unfortunately mostly with departures- if all the rumoured future departures turn out to be on the money, we'll need to know whether he can cut it.

Not signing in at all is even worse for me, only means he broke the national protocols as well as the NRL ones.

Its dumb by him, no doubt. But the club and its owners only have themselves to blame. Little wonder there is player unrest when they won't dispose of a useless coach and give them better direction. The club is a shambles
