Christian Welch is one more injury away from retirement.

Saints don’t need Christian.

We need 2 young powerful, durable props who haven’t eaten red meat for a year.

Oh for Bull Bailey and Jason Ryles.

Where are our gun Illawarra junior forwards?

Out on their surfboards.More love for the water than on the field.

I would like it if we got Pangai Jnr, he’s a liability on his day but he’s a risk worth taking. He can bully opposition packs, even bullied big JT once no mean feat. Swap deal for Norman:joy:. He could do for us what Costigan and Smith did.

It would be futile to buy 1 good forward as we kill them with the the power game, bench rotation and increased workload as their mates get busted.

Our bench shows what poor depth we really gave as none of them really make a game changing impact when they get on the paddock.

The sad reality is “a” David Fifita or “a” TVP Jnr will not make the difference because we actually need 3 quality forwards to ensure the likes of Sims, Lawrie, Merrin, Fuimaono are all pushed back to CC or out the door completely.

One off purchases will never be enough to get us back to where we should be as our ranks are now paper thin if the truth be known.

Yes some great talent coming through but we need to ensure we have great players for them to actually play with to ensure we get the best out of them.

This is true but we all Saints philosophy if it doesn't work then keep on trying the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again and then just hope for the best no problem is ever to big to ignore.

What’s happened to the big fella from the storm Kamikacamina ? spelling?? He’s a big body with good go forward.
Don’t think I’ve seen him this year so he could be on the outer or injured.

I think Welch would be good, but need more considering the forwards we are losing and what we have left!

I'd also be chasing Jack Hetherington and 1 or 2 of the Roosters bench forwards, Collins, Butcher or Tupouniua.
Hetherington's rap sheet
Round 13: grade-three careless high tackle on Manly's Marty Taupau
Round 10: grade-one dangerous contact on Cronulla's Blayke Brailey
Round 22, 2018: grade-one careless high tackle on Gold Coast's AJ Brimson
Round 12, 2018: grade-one dangerous high contact on St George Illawarra's Paul Vaughan
Round 9, 2018: grade-one dangerous contact head/neck on Cowboy Shaun Fensom

Hethrington would also be a good fit with Welch
Vauhen would have shit himself when Hethrington hit him.
I am disappointed in Vauhens impact on the paddock and his latest indescretion.
How does this look from players possibly available and not stretching salary cap?
1.Hines.Strong,athletic young,fullback skills
2.Ramsay.Fast,elusive,young.
3.Ravalawa.Hits hard,difficult to tackle,can pass
4.Lomax.Lots of attacking tools in the toolbox.Good attitude.Leader material.
5.Johnson.Great finisher.Prefer outside Lomax
6.Dufty.Already starting to play there.Just needs the forward pack moving forward.
7.Widdop/Burton.Widdop would setup this type of backline.Burton young, skills, cool.
8 .Vaughan.May pick up with a bit of fire along side him.
9.Hunt Could become confident with this go forward pack.
10 Welsch.Much better than what we already have.Starter for Storm so must be good.
11.Hetherington.Essential purchase.Need the mongrel in the middle.
12.Elliot.Would look after Dufty.
13.Mcuinness(c). May develop better attack with this pack around him.
14.Kerr.Needs a good prop coach otherwise may drift into the sunset.Has promise.
15 Ellis.Nice debut. Bent the line.
16 Ford.Versatile.Needs some structure and decent ball player inside him.
17 Host.Hasnt been given chance yet.
