Our next encounter is against the Melbourne Storm at the fortress SCG on Thursday, 13 August 2020, with a scheduled kick off at 7.50 pm.

Given our current injury toll, this is going to be a massive challenge for our squad. I believe, for the first time in a long time, we should start as the outsiders, surely (despite the two Camerons - Smith and Munster - likely being out for this one).

Positive judiciary result for Ryan Hall (not surprising):

Squad update (not surprising):

While I see that, according to a betting agency, the odds are $1.48 to the Roosters and $2.65 for the Storm, I am surprised that Melbourne are not the favourites, or the odds are not at least much more even (refer: https://www.nrl.com/draw/nrl-premiership/2020/round-14/roosters-v-storm/).

Anyway, the excellent news is that it is game day, ladies and gentlemen, so fire up you mighty mighty Roosters, fire up!

Roosters by six.

I have tipped the mighty Roosters by six tonight, and most pundits seem to have picked us as well. It might be very close, once again, and anything could happen.

Having the two Camerons out for them is a big loss, however. We need to make the most of this rare and significant chance.

Late mail:

The Roosters have Ryan Hall (knee) in some doubt, Hall will be checked on Thursday morning to see if he is fit to play but if ruled out we could see a debutant in Christian Tuipulotu making his NRL debut on the left wing.

Josh Morris took part in the captain’s run and is expected to return after missing the last couple of games due to a calf injury.

Matt Ikuvalu is good to go after passing required concussion protocols.

Kyle Flanagan and Egan Butcher were both omitted from the 19 man squad with Max Bailey the other player remaining in 19.

Coach Trent Robinson has confirmed co-captain Boyd Cordner will be missing for a couple more weeks as the Roosters look to give him a 6 week break to overcome concussion issues as they did with Luke Keary last year.
