The rule was invented purely for the Roosters to get sonny bill and wasn’t initially available to other clubs. There was then a very limited time frame on it which hampered other clubs from using it.
The storm signing of Ricky Leutele was the only other player to make the deadline, after initially being rejected they just managed to scrape a deal through.
It was not a fair and equal system designed for every club, it was a sell out.
So late in a season is the issue. No club should have this option.

This year is COVID-19, everything is different and all clubs have had some benefits and allowances.

It tells me that the Roosters are not confident they have the forward pack to win the title.

Interesting SMH story on Anthony Griffin which includes his time at Penrith and reasons for him getting punted.

No direct quotes. He contradicts Gould to suit his story. Take it with a bucket of salt. If the dressing room was so against him, why didn't we hear it at the time and if Gould hated him so much, why did the board sack Hook when Gould wanted to leave him in place until the end of the season? Story just doesn't gel.

Ouch, what a hatchet job done on Griffin. Hard to argue with much of that. Although the game plan changed from 5 hitups and a kick, to run it on the last if inside the opposition 10.

Interestingly done by Gould's mate Webster.

Look at the Author. Enough said

The form of the guys let go by us. Probably tells more of the story

Yep an opinion piece based on stories from a mate.

Plenty of ex players can ask for a quote
