WHO IS GRIFFINS ASSISTANT NEXT YEAR

Can only guess that Dean was desperate to get the job, and was probably hoping that he would get it with Griffin coming in on staff as an assistant (perhaps as recruitment & pathways manager). The 'Young Brigade' probably requested David Furner to be interviewed for the purpose of an assistants role as well.

The Dragons Management Team must be reading these forums. Seems that a complete clean out of the football team staff is underway. Can only imagine that the playing roster is next in Hooks cross-hairs.
I hope your right! Griffin would do a lot better after a staff clean out.

I feel he will take his time clearing out those players he doesn't want. I assume he would interview and make an assessment before he lets them go.

Hopefully Hook will come to know what we already know- Young was part of the problem- not part of the solution.

As far as assistants go, I have a left field suggestion- Jamie Soward. He has a seriously good football brain and knows Hook thru their commentary work at 2GB. He was one of the media definitely not on board the Mary train. We've seen with Jason Ryles and Todd Payten that players who may not have been the most disciplined can become excellent coaches.

I like Jamie and agree with you on the footy brain but I think he’d be a bad coach. Not sure he’d get the man management bit..

Looking out there, I think Kidwell should be in the mix.

The eels have done better than expected, they have but a few marquees like you but...they seem to get more value from them.

He would be able to bring something to to table without too much disturbance to his royal highness!

Yes I would not mind John Cartwright as the assistant coach . He certainly knows how to get a team off it’s arse and playing for the entire 80 minutes - and may the good lawd help those players who don’t heed his advice .

The perfect combination Griffin & Cartwright !

They can get a bit too cool for school some of these blokes.

The eels players virtually live at Westmead children’s hospital. They do a great job.

Having said that, the sight of Nathan Brown walking towards you dressed up as clown holding a thermometer might raise the old blood pressure.

Not sure that Bad Cop Bad Cop would work with both Griffin and Henry. Both are noted hard asses with Henry losing the players at 2 clubs and mixed reviews on Hook's man management. For me Cartwright might offset Hook's personality better and add something different.
